Worst hotel experience of my life.
I arrived around 5pm, checked in, shown to my room, everything was fine. I unpacked, put on some TV, and chilled out for an hour before heading out for some dinner. At 7pm, I get a call from the hotel that I must urgently return as something has happened - the details are not given, so I assume the worst and drop what I am doing to run back to the hotel. Upon arriving, the woman takes me up to my room and stands over me while telling me to pack my things quickly. I oblige, still not sure what is happening, as she takes me to another room upstairs. She tells me another couple have checked in who should be in my room. I am annoyed but accommodate the request as it’s not such a big deal, just a bit odd. Shortly after, I realise my TV is not working so I go downstairs to reception to ask for help. A man comes up to my room, stands on my bed and attempts to fix the TV (turning it off and on again, unplugging it, same as I had tried myself) and agrees it does not work. He says he will call a technician to fix it tomorrow. (It is never fixed).
I ask if there are any other rooms available and explain I am a solo traveller here for an appointment. My plan is to stay in the hotel, watch TV and relax - I am not a tourist and here alone. I felt like I was being laughed at by the staff, who were unable to move me to another room or fix the TV. By now, it is late; my dinner plans ruined, and stuck in a room with no windows, no TV, and no AC.
