Room was not cleaned very well/hair all over the place when I checked into the room. Especially in the bathroom. At checkout, nobody was there to assist with luggage or operate the elevator, as I was heading to the airport. Carried my bags down from the 4th floor, only to find the night auditor sitting there, eating—I guess ignoring the elevator alert that would have came through. Not the greatest experience overall.

A Gladstone Wedding
We enjoyed our stay at the Gladstone. Our room was spotless with a comfortable bed and crisp white linens. We were there to attend a wedding. It was well organized, the wait staff was pleasant, attentive and efficient. We especially enjoyed using the antique elevator, complete with an operator.

interesting place to stay, worth it.
Hotel is lovely; Staff was excellent and helpful - especially Marion, who dealt quickly and thoughtfully with a parking issue that was beyond the hotel's control. The room was small and with too priority for style over function. No one likes a shower than spills water all over the bathroom, and bathroom light switches that are outside the bathroom and *behind* the door don't make much sense. Would also have appreciated enough space to sit and to put luggage. The lobbies, the lounges, the pool table - all very nice.

As many Toronto hotels were exorbitant during the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, we were looking for a non airport alternative. There were pros and cons. The pros were that it was not too far from downtown Toronto, it was clean, AC/ heating worked well, we received a free upgrade to a king size bed, people were so friendly, there was a Starbucks literally 2 minute walk and it has an Amazing vintage Elevator! We arrived 9 PM on a Friday night only to be told that the bar was closed and the other restaurant was closed for a private event. There was no closet in the rooms. Definitely DO NOT have a room facing Queen Street. It was loud throughout the night and both nights AND the steetcars run less than 30 feet from the front of the Hotel all night. The shower has an open glass 1/2 divide and thus the towel you place next to it will be totally saturated with water. It was a quaint boutique hotel with pool table on the 3rd floor. People really are nice. However, due to the noise and street car, sleeping quality was very poor. In summary, good choice but never sleep in room facing Queen Street !!

The Gladstone was very unique and beautiful. The staff was wonderful and helpful when needed. The room was clean and nice. The only concern is the street noise. I stayed on the second floor so maybe that has something to do with it. Other than that it was the perfect stay.

Rooms are clean and updated. Shower floor drain could be improved to prevent water leaking out (not a big issue). A bath towel we had was stained - we had it changed. Coffee machine can be improved - a more user friendly and simple machine will be easier for guests to use. Machine labels are not visible. Directions for use can be added for guidance. Overall, a good place to stay.
