Excellent Stay with Family at Melia Kuala Lumpur
I recently stayed at Melia Kuala Lumpur with my family and had a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We had clean, well-maintained interconnecting rooms, which were perfect for staying close to our parents while still enjoying our own space.
The hotel amenities were excellent, catering well to both relaxation and convenience. One of the biggest perks was the location—within walking distance to major shopping centres, which made exploring the city and dining out incredibly easy.
Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend Melia Kuala Lumpur to families or anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable hotel in the heart of the city.
The hotel service was excellent. The room thermostat was likely not working, and the aircon was extremely cold even at the highest temperature setting. After the hotel technician had a look at the aircon and confirmed the problem, we were given the choice to change room. We chose to stay however, and the hotel staff obliged blankets and douvets (we ended up with 3 layers by the time checked out!)
Worst customer service. Booked through expedia and made an error while booking but they wouldn’t change dates or refund either on my request or Expedias request. Paid $900 Cad for nothing as I wouldn’t even be there on those dates. Sad that you don’t even have a heart to consider certain situations. I guess business is above ethics

If you are looking for a central KL location that is within walking distance to Bukit Bintang, Jalan Alor, TRX mall then I would recommend this hotel.
Don't expect much from front desk. We booked for a King size bed and upon check in was advice only twin beds were available. We asked if they could push the twin beds together and make it into a King bed. They were unable to due to the layout and a fixed table between the beds.
We requested to be moved to a King bed for the remainder of our stay. This was provided but with some delay due to house keeping. The second room had urine smell on the floor and when asked to clean it. House keeping just sprayed cleaning product in and around the toilet and left it as is.
Hotel has been refurb, but shower fixtures like the hand shower were leaking when in use. Tiles in shower were stained. Looking a bit tired and need replacing of fixtures. The iron didn't have a steam function.
Beds and pillows are comfortable and air conditioning worked well.
The hotel room is spacious and clean. The Times Square shopping center is just across the street and there are many restaurants there. Other major shopping centers are also in a walk distance. Highly recommended.
The property was fine, however, the receptionist at first seemed to be quite desperate to put me in a twin room when i ordered a double bed. It was resolved when i came back a few hours later to formally check in. The hotel was in a superb location, but just seemed slightly 'tired' to me.
Sadly an old property with some refurbishment.
Booked king bed room told not available and offered two single beds where the length was not enough so they said will upgrade but still two single beds.
Staff not so friendly and lifts cluncked as doors opened and closed causing concern they would break down.
Overall not a pleadant stay but on a positive note amazing location.
The hotel staff are friendly, they provide excellent service and the rooms are impeccably clean. However, the quality of food and the service on the restaurant side is a different story. This hotel may not be a great fit for westerners especially for meat eaters. While there are a lot of selections for the breakfast buffet, there is barely any meat dish available. The buffet is heavy on carbs and vegetables. There's an everyday cheese or chicken sausage and some cold cuts, very bland. That's it for the meat option. There's also some type of Indian chicken dish, but if you're used to having bacon or pork sausages, you won't find it here. The quality of the food is also questionable as there are mornings where the food is visibly left over from the day before with veggies wilting and visible oxidation and food is cold from the fridge. Even the scrambled eggs are cold...fridge cold. There is a noodle and congee station but this is rarely staffed. In our 5 days there, I never once was able to order anything from this station as there is no staff that mans it. Even the afternoon cocktails selection isn't that great and the bartender is always missing. It's very hard to order any kind of drinks.
Front Desk Service: The front desk staff demonstrated poor service during check-out. We were asked to wait for 10 minutes while they checked the room for additional charges, but we ended up waiting over 30 minutes. When we approached the reception to inquire about the status, the staff casually informed us that everything was fine and that we could leave. It turns out they had forgotten about us entirely. This level of service is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.
Food Quality: The food at the restaurant was subpar and lacked quality or flavor. For the price and reputation, we expected much better.
Swimming Pool Hygiene: The swimming pool area was highly disappointing. It was crowded with guests dressed in ordinary clothes instead of proper swimwear, which is extremely unhygienic and unappealing.
