The hotel is so convenient to the international terminal, especially if you have a morning flight. Room was clean and a good size. We booked the room with the airport view so it was nice to watch the planes at night.

Very comfortable and convenient hotel to stay for early international flight departures. Highly recommend paying the extra fee to book a room overlooking the runway. It’s very calming to watch planes land and take off, particularly if you are a nervous flyer!

Close to the airport international departures terminal 1. Room clean and tidy. Bed comfortable. There’s a well stocked mini bar. The shower is excellent with good water pressure. I would have liked complimentary water provided with my room which seems to be a thing with other hotels. The area has limited dining options (outside of the hotel restaurants).

Good breakfast buffet, if you pay the extra money for that. Clean rooms. Good views of the airport.5 minute walk to the international terminal, car rentals, and shuttle to the domestic terminals. A bit strange for me in that you have to put the spare room key in a slot to operate any lights/power. The shower is of the rainfall variety. The toilet room doesn't have a switch for the exhaust for some reason. Nice coffee/tea selections in the room. Comfy bed. TV only carries local channels.

Below average hotel
The hotel room was extremely small and under construction, so all of the hallways were covered in plastic and only one elevator was working so we had to factor and extra time for the length the weights for the elevator. Value for money here is not there. I would recommend staying at a nicer hotel that offers a shuttle to the airport.

Inadequate staff on arrival and departure
Whenever I have traveled abroad via Sydney, Rydges has always been a clear winner for ease of access to the international terminal along with comfortable accommodation. However this tome upon arrival and departure, there were clearly inadequate staff rostered. In fact there was on arrival a staff member on the phone on hold allegedly dealing with a rydges membership query yet there were a handful of guests clearly waiting to check in. A few of us looked around rather incredulous at the lack of communication from the staff on hold. Very slow and being on hold is not a priority when other passengers are waiting At check out, much the same, one staff member on, no clear signs where to drop card key off. I would have preferred to get a receipt but I was in no position to wait. Then after checking my credit card transactions, I’d been charged for something l never had. Upon return to Sydney, I went back to rydges and asked why and that no email receipt came through. They misspelled my email upon arrival hence no email receipt was received and I insisted there was no minibar used (I don’t drink). This was refunded but rydges needs to pull there finger out with staff training
