Spent a quick three nights down in San Diego at the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego/Bayside with the wife and kids. The two bedroom suite was the perfect size for our family of 5 as it offered a two queen bedroom and a single king bedroom. The suite was equipped with a decent sized kitchen area and full-sized refrigerator. The property was quite modern and offered free breakfast as part of the stay. Overall, the bedding was fairly comfortable and we were provided an adequate number of towels. Upon closer inspection, the room could have used a bit more TLC though. There were some USB ports in the room that were damaged (unusable), a loud refrigerator, a sketchy lock on the sliding bathroom door, as well as a well worn sleeper sofa that could have benefited from a couple of pillows to make the room a bit more inviting. Overall, the room appeared clean, but the dark carpeting and dark woods overall probably help to hide any stains. I think the biggest complaint would be the lack of any onsite parking at the property and the requirement to use their valet ($60/night) if you have a car. However, the property's close proximity to Little Italy was a real plus. You could easily walk to a bunch of nice restaurants in the area as well as the Farmer's Market they hold there every Wednesday and Saturday. We would stay there again despite the aforementioned issues.
