There wasn’t much of a bar and restaurant. ( I didn’t see a restaurant). The Gaslamp area was very busy, yet the Horton Hotel bar was dead. The room was clean, cozy, and quiet. Great location.

We loved our stay at the Horton Grand.Our room was CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, SAFE, and exactly as advertised. This historic hotel has a wonderful and friendly staff. The building is beautiful, especially in the bar, and oozing with historic charm. Despite the age of the building, there was no lack of modern comfort or amenities. The Wifi was strong and our room was very comfortable and secure. Situated in the heart of the Gaslamp area, we were not short of options to dine or shop. The tram is only two blocks away and gave us access to the Little Italy neighbourhood with ease. San Diego is very walkable from this hotel but the tram made it a little easier. Within just a couple of blocks of Petco Park, The Coronado ferry, The Convention Centre, and the Midway Museum. Being this close to all the action did expose us to the noise that downtown in a major city will have. If you are seeking a quieter stay, the hotel has a courtyard with rooms on the inside that I'm sure are much quieter than our room on the street side was for whiskey Wednesday across the street. Our windows muffled it significantly so I was fine.

I was skeptical but this property was amazing!!! The room was such a great size! It was an easy walk to to Petco Park and the surrounding bars, the staff was great and place was really beautiful and clean.

Our room was ready early, which was nice since we were in town for the rodeo that day. We used our drink tickets at the bar. The old fashions were great and the bartender was friendly. The hotel is old but in a good way. Felt like we went back in time. I have walked by so many times and wondered what it was like inside and it did not disappoint.
