Nice if basic rooms but the location at night around Market Street and City Hall is not good and although we didn’t have any issues it feels very unsafe.

Out of five elevators only two worked and one of two broke down, which left only one elevator available which made getting into one a mess and very long wait to the point we used stairs which led to back of building into very sketchy area, and we had to walk around with all our luggage. Room was very dirty and had stains all over floor, room curtains and shower curtains, shower head was very loose.

The front desk staff are very friendly and the building is secure. The room itself was clean, but very basic. The rooms have the appearance of just having moved into a new place and sleeping on a mattress on the floor because you haven’t set up the bed yet. It’s very loud—lots of college kids and long term rentals with party people.

Basically the hotel was stay at your own risk. There was so many area all over the hotel that was stained and dirty that I will never book again here. Also what was the point of having a security guard if someone got their car broken into while on duty?!

Fine hotel, bad location
The hotel is not in a great area. We didn’t feel safe walking anywhere so we took an Uber every time we went somewhere. The hotel itself was fine and felt safe. It’s daily nice but somewhat outdated. The elevators were inconsistent and there were some stains on our rug but besides that it was nice. If not for the location, we would stay again.

Worst Hotel Experience
For $178 a night this is a terrible, low budget, and gross hotel to stay in. The lobby is deceiving- that is the only nice part about this hotel. The hallway had feces on the floor, our room had disgusting carpet stains, and the beds are on the ground with a box spring only. Not to mention that we were evacuated at 3:30 am with our small child for a “false fire alert”. We didn’t return to our rooms until 4:30am and it was very traumatic for our child. When I requested a refund they offered us $40 back- which basically just pays for the parking. DO NOT stay here- there are much better options in the area.

Avoid the elevators
The elevators don’t work! 4 OUT OF 4 don’t function properly. Expect to wait 15 minutes or more every time you want to get to the room. You might even get stuck!!

As a digital executive for a marketing firm, I frequently travel and review the places I stay. During a recent visit to BEI San Francisco for my father's surgery, I encountered both positive experiences and some challenges. Positives: - Staff: Luis Flores and his team were accommodating and flexible, offering an upgrade when I called ahead about additional family members. - Cleanliness & Security: The rooms were spotless, and the secure parking garage provided peace of mind. - Amenities: The hotel has a beautiful 4th-floor outdoor area, well-maintained workspaces, and pet-friendly accommodations. The location is convenient, close to the hospital and public transit. Areas for Improvement: - Communication: I was surprised by additional charges not clearly communicated when booking through Expedia. A $1100 hold was placed on my debit card at check-in, causing significant inconvenience during a stressful time. - Room Amenities: Rooms would benefit from microwaves and clearer instructions for using the TV and elevators. - Breakfast: It wasn’t clear whether breakfast was available, and adding this option would be appreciated. Area Considerations: - Safety: The hotel feels secure, but the surrounding area is challenging due to the presence of homeless individuals. I strongly advise against walking around, especially at night. Conclusion: While the hotel has many positives, the unexpected financial strain and area safety concerns made my stay less than ideal.

This was my first time staying here with my family. This is a nice place to stay, and the beds were really comfortable in my opinion. I've heard various opinions regarding the homeless in the area, but they weren't present during our stay. Aside from that, it's Sanfran; if you've never gone, you'll see them around. The hotel felt extremely safe, and we parked in the public garage directly across the street just use spot hero to secure parking for a cheaper price. We will stay at this hotel again when we come back to San Francisco!
