Wasn’t as good as it described! Protesters were protesting on the road pretty much entire time. Parking not convenient and expensive.

Our room was surprisingly spacious and had a little balcony that overlooked the pool. I loved that they supplied hair conditioner plus toothpaste and a toothbrush! Our beds were firm but comfortable enough for a few nights. I personally despise aircon so to be able to open our doors and breathe fresh air was perfect for us. The only downside to this beautiful property was no restaurant or bar facilities and the area made me nervous to venture out alone as it really does border on Tenderloin and there were a lot of spaced out homeless in the streets all around. We also had to lug our baggage up a staircase to get to our room and the layout of the entire place felt a bit higgle de piggledee. There were numerous restaurants and places to dine within very easy walking distance

Great Location
Nice hotel, good central location. The beds were super comfy, room was a nice size & clean, good selection of toiletries. Beware of protestors opposite the hotel, the hotel has no control over this but you should be informed, the noise has horrendous and impacted my stay.

The hotel is only a block away from Union Square and Powell St. I had a large room on the pool level, part of the old motor inn, not the original hotel. My room had a sliding door out to the pool. It was quiet and very comfortable. All the staff were attentive and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. There was an adjustable thermostat, for your comfort. The hotel is near many restaurants and shops within a couple of blocks. I will definitely return to this hotel for its comfort, location and affordability.

Handlery is half a block from Union Square, close to public transportation and walkable to most things downtown. There is a small but beautiful outdoor pool by the premium rooms. The water is warm, even in late October! No hot tub. The rooms in the old section are clean and adequate. They need an update, but it suits us fine.
