Stayed overnight for business. We'd always stay at the Ayres, Fountain Valley when arrive for business or pleasure. Excellent hotel, professional but friendly hotel associates, and good food. For our purposes the hotel is in a convenient location. We will stay there again.

Had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable; although the mattress was a little soft for me. Breakfast was tasty and I really like that it was cooked on site and refreshed through the service time. Staff was friendly and helpful. A bonus was onsite parking without an additional charge.

Pros: 1. The staff was very helpful and well mannered. 2. The overall condition of the property is good. Cons: 1. I had very hard time find parking when I came back around 11pm. I had to wait for 10-15 minutes for me parking to get empty. 2. The breakfast is cheap. No nuts and no good vegetarian options.

Place is run down, not like pictures. The hallway smelled like damp carpet. Room was musty. Shower, all though large, didn’t have anywhere to put personal soaps and shampoos. Bathroom area is large which would be nice if traveling with several people. The room was very clean. Bed is soft. Arrived late as flights were canceled on way from New York. Told the restaurant, Spoons, would be closing soon. Went up to room to drop luggage off and came down to get a quick bite to eat. The sign in the elevator says restaurant closed at 10 on Friday night. Walked in at 9:15 and was told by bartender that they were closed. While turning to leave I said that the sign said 10 pm. Only for the bartender and her 2 friends sitting at the bar to mock me saying “Oh, the elevator sign says we’re open”. The next morning, after not eating the night before, we go down to have breakfast at 9:35 and everything except a few items are put away, website says open to 10 on Saturdays. Lady says they closed at 9:30. She did offer for us to eat what was still out. We declined. Also, pictures show a really nice breakfast, not what we saw. Husband went down earlier for some coffee, said it was just a typical continental breakfast. As we were heading out after no breakfast we told the day manager about our experience with the bartender. She apologized and asked my room number. I expected a credit or something when I checked out, nothing.

The hotel itself is very nice with inviting common areas and guest rooms. The beds are very comfortable with nice furniture and linens. Our room opened onto the lobby but was still very quiet. The restaurant is fairly spacious and offers a nice breakfast buffet. In short, all of the physical attributes are what you’d expect from a somewhat upscale hotel. The best part, however, is the attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Every staff member encountered seemed intent on ensuring a pleasant stay. And it worked! We have relatives who live nearby and expect to stay at the Ayers every time we visit.

This place was really impressive for an incredibly reasonable price. It is extremely clean. The stuff is very helpful. It’s very close to the freeway yet. Very quiet. The outside courtyard area is very lovely and so is the pool area. I’ve stayed at the four seasons as well as Motel 6 and this place is as good as the best.
