The hotel impressed me very much for its cleanliness and security features, and we were very comfortable sleeping there. But I have to say, I was quite taken aback by how small the room and bathroom were. The room was almost exactly the size of the bed. There was no closet, nor any place to hang anything. The bathroom had a normal size shower but a miniscule sink that made it difficult to wash.

Overpriced Cuboard
The Grand Hotel Bellevue is a new hotel in Paddington, an area of London renowned for grotty hotels and boarding houses. Having read some reviews after its opening I booked two nights and was looking forward to the experience. In summary it’s neither “grand “ or blessed with a “Bellevue”. The rooms or cabins are tiny. My double cabin had a bed that took up the entire width of the room. To compound the discomfort the bed was about a metre off the floor. There was no wardrobe in which to hang clothes. Any movement around the room required detailed planning. No desk, no chair. To add insult to injury this hotel takes £50 a night from your credit card, rather than placing a hold on this amount. The search for somewhere decent to stay in this area of London goes on.

This hotel still feels new and clean and the staff are working hard. The room was quiet, with quality bed linen, a stylish tiny en suite shower room and both air-con and an opening window. I stay in London most weeks on business and probably won’t stay here again however. While the photos online of the reception area, building facade and inside staircase accurately reflect reality the rooms do not. My room was essentially a tiny magnolia box, only one side of the double bed was accessible by a normal healthy adult. There is no wardrobe, table, storage or dressing table. Literally nowhere to hang my coat, which ended up on the floor. Not even a coat hook! The complimentary hot drink was limited to camomile tea or black coffee. I care little for monogrammed bathroom mats if I cannot hang up my coat, store my clothes somewhere clean and have a cup of tea with milk.

Whilst the rooms are tiny, and surrounding area undesirable, this boutique hotel is beautifully designed with polished finishing and thoughtful layout. Most definitely the best hotel in the area by far.

El hotel es divino una especie de casa victoriana adaptada como hotel boutique. La decoración es muy linda y el personal es súper atento. Solo estuve una noche y elegí el cuarto más pequeño, con solo 10 metros es perfecto para dormir y disfrutar la ciudad, si eres una persona práctica y no te importa tanto el espacio puedes elegir este cuarto también si vas acompañada. La cama es una delicia igual que las almohadas, me hospedaron en el último piso del hotel y mi cuarto daba a un pequeño parque. Tienen buenas amenidades tanto para baño como una cafetera Nespresso y una tetera. Todos los acabados son en madera y lo hace ver muy elegante. El baño es estilo vintage y la regadera increíble. Te incluyen en desayuno en la estancia? Es un buffet básico pero toda la variedad de alimentos de gran calidad y gusto, todo delicioso pero sin mucha variedad. El hotel está ubicado a 5 minutos caminando de la estación de Paddington por lo que no necesitas tomar taxi para llegar. Te dan una clave para entrar por la puerta del hotel aunque siempre hay alguien en recepción, me dejaron hacer check in antes de tiempo y también check out después de la hora formal. Lo que no me gustó fue que el parque de enfrente no esta nada cuidado y se mete gente rara, que el hotel de junto estaba en remodelación y si se oía cuando trabajaban y que el barrio que se encontraba a una cuadra posterior al hotel no estaba tan lindo era muy comercial pero de ahí en fuera todo lo demás maravilloso. Volvería a quedarme
