Lovely place - but maybe close the window!

I had a room with a lovely view across the heath. The room was immaculate and comfortable. It was a very warm night, and I was glad for the fan and managed to stay cool. In the morning, I opened the window to let in cooler air and went out for a run. And on my return, a pigeon had taken up residence and was sitting on my bed! I mentioned this at reception on checkout, and the young lady was uninterested—such a shame, as the total lack of engagement tainted the whole stay.

Grand nights stay

Single night stay. Very comfortable bed. Thr room and bathroom are a little dated with a real key to open the door but was very nice. Staff were very polite. Breakfast was excellent ......with a fabulous pot of tea. Serving staff were brilliant. Parking available onsite was a great feature too

This is the 4th time staying at the Clarendon Hotel and once again it was excellent. From the booking in at reception all the staff throughout our stay were amazing. The cleaning of our room 171 was done daily to high standard, the staff in the restaurant were always helpful as were all the hotel staff, 10 out 10 for all the staff.

Spacious, comfortable, and great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room (a suite) was huge and comfortable. We booked the suite to get the larger bed, but not expecting the room to be as large as it was. A pleasant surprise! The included breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each morning before sightseeing. The location was nice too, right across from the observatory and prime meridian. A tube station was a few minute walk away, and easy to access. We had a car rental, which easily fit in their front parking lot. It was easy to exit the city too, since we were already away from the busiest part of London. Each person we spoke with at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

The breakfast was superb,the staff were very helpful and polite. The room I had(143) was rite above reception which you could hear people if you are a lite sleeper but it didn't go on all night apart from that i would stay again nice hotel.

Great staff, great service!

The building is impressive and in a lovely location. I was given clear directions to the additional car park by a frjendly front of house staff member before we even checked in. Staff were very attentive. Room was very clean and comfortable and overlooked the lovely gardens. We hadn't realised there was a Motown event going on during our stay and it was very loud. I phoned reception to find out its finishing time as we had a young child to get to sleep and they sent a porter up straight away to show us to an alternative room. Unfortunately the alternative wasnt suitable so we stayed in our original room and put the fan on to drown out the noise (luckily it was a very warm day so the fan was welcome anyway!) They offered to keep the other room free and said to let them know if we changed our minds and wanted it after all. I was so impressed by how accommodating they were. Breakfast was lovely, staff very attentive. Our only issue was the shower didnt drain away so the tray filled up and would have flooded the bathroom so i abandoned my shower! My husband reported it at checkout and they noted it down straight away. Overall we were very impressed with the hotel, the staff, the level of service and the food and would definitely return.
