Not recommended

Lady in charge at breakfast is the only reason it's a 3/5 and not a 1 or a 2. Bedroom tiny , bathroom tiny, terrible view , nothing deluxe about the room at all. No room to swing a cat. Mentioned it to reception and they said there small as it's a boutique hotel! Never heard such tosh at all. Was said to be sound proofed room on advert, but the floor boards above our room (103) creaked all morning from 430am or onwards noisy guests moving around at that time is ridiculous! Kept us awake so didn't get a good kip at all. Bathrooms downstairs were disgusting ! Cleaner came in when I was in there and she said they are always in a mess as guests leave toilet roll (used) and rubbish all over the place. Not what I expect at all to hear from your staff.

The rooms are dated and the first room was not acceptable. It was next to on going construction outside and had an obstruction blocking the window. The staff accommodated and moved us to another room. Overall though the rooms are not great quality, you get what you pay for. The bathrooms have rust, and the caulking needs to be redone.

Beautiful hotel but very small "superior"room. Had to crawl onto end of bed to get in! Only 1 hand towel, no floor mat, broken shower, shower gel empty, tiny high level window which was open on arrival. Room freezing! Door sticks open which is a fire risk. However, breakfast was great & slept ok. Wouldn't stay again as the little things mean a lot!

The service by the reception staff , cleaners and restaurant staff were excellent. Our room 218 was small and the bathroom was extremely difficult to use because of the limited space and facilities. Some shelving would be a benefit to put toiletries on and hooks for coats . The safe door in the wardrobe banged against the wardrobe door and it was awkward to use . It was extremely hot in the room with the air conditioning breaking down but even when it was up and running the room was too hot and stuffy. No windows to open to get any fresh air . There were obviously snails underneath the fridge as each morning there were sliver trails on the carpets . The room was a bit tired and needed some updating . Good points The fridge was extremely useful , the fresh fruit ,dressing gowns and complimentary toiletries were useful and appreciated. The room was more suitable for a single person than a couple and was a bit claustrophobic, there wasn’t enough room pass each other from the wardrobe area to the bed / bathroom .

Whilst the location and breakfast where good, I was left frustrated by my room. There was no plug for the bath and by the time I was given one, it meant I was running late for my dinner event. Also both taps in the sink ran hot water, which meant cleaning my teeth in the bath or in hot water. Not what i would expect.

I loved staying in this beautiful Victorian building. It is only 5 minutes away from the Hyde Park, centrally located, and most importantly very quiet. The staff was very courteous and friendly. I strongly recommend to consider this elegant hotel for your next escapade to London.

Very poor. The rooms are incredibly small and very grubby. The net curtains were covered in paint and the air conditioning unit was not working. The staff were very friendly but clearly embarrassed when we raised our concerns. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent breakfast and great location.

Great location, and an excellent breakfast (the two sisters working there are a real asset to the hotel). Some parts of the hotel are very beautiful, but our rooms were very small and tired. First room had a shower in tub, which was too high for my partner to get in and out of and also didn’t have shower curtain, so it was hard not to soak the bathroom when showering. So we switched to another room with a shower stall. I’m 190 pounds and 5’11” and I could barely turn around in the shower. The stall leaked too, so we had to stuff towels around it to prevent the very tiny bathroom floor from flooding. Toilet had no leg room, so you had to sit sideways to use it. We had a tiny wardrobe with 8 hangers, and very little space to lay out suitcases, had to ask for a luggage rack, so we could put bags somewhere. Other rooms may be better, and one should expect small when staying in London. Rooms were kept clean, but maintenance was needed. Loose fixtures, loose window locks, missing curtain hooks etc. very hard bed. Wifi was good. This hotel was conveniently located close to two tube stations, and Kensington Park. Lots of restaurant options. If you stay here, include breakfast in your stay. Good English breakfast offerings. Foyer and lobby were beautiful. Flower arrangements were wonderful.
