Would have been higher but a fire alarm and sprinklers meant a bit of a wet stay. The staff were lovely and very helpful which is what makes the difference

Hotels in London are expensive overall. I choose this hotel due to budget. To be fair, you get what you pay for. It's a very basic hotel. The pros are the location, a 5 min walk to Paddington train and subway station (but you need to know the exit otherwise it will take one 3 times the time!), the staff are very helpful, they gave me an upgrade to a double room which I have thankful of. Cons are the room they gave me is actually at the basement - the high windows overlook the road which is noisy at times and doesn’t close properly, didn’t like the bathroom at all (it's the plastic shower cabinet that u get in ships with a short shower curtain, so the entire small bathroom floor gets very wet).
The hotel has excellent staff who are very friendly, and the reception staff are particularly nice and helpful. The room is clean and provides easy access to a nearby market. Our stay with our 1-year-old baby was very enjoyable.
Easy to find in a convenient location. As I was changing hotels and early they allowed me to store my bag and even took care to put my laptop bag in their office for extra security at their suggestion. Can't fault the staff, everyone I interected with was really pleasant and attentive
Although the single room was pretty small they make great used of space so it did not seem claustraphobic. There was a comfy bed and nice clean bathroom with a decent shower, everything very clean. I was aware there was no lift & was on the top floor which was a bit of a climb but no surprise really. Everything I needed to use as base & close to Paddington station for underground access. Some pubs and eatieries nearby if I didn't want to venture far.
Breakfast was very tasty, a lovely full English plus toast, cereal, tea and juice. Yum yum, set me up for the days.
If I am being critical, and it's not something in the control of the hotel, was that some of the other guests were noisy while I was there. Whinging loudly about no lift (obviously didn't read the description) and a group booking multiple rooms were in and out of their rooms being noisy until quite late on my last night.
I'd happily return though and recommend
Staff were super friendly and efficient, we were given a room upgrade which was brilliant, room was clean and comfortable.
Special mention for Kevin who was very helpful, went above and beyond

Decent location, lovely staff, just a little run down. But did the job for a group of us in one room. Really hot room, but AC helped a little. Could do with an update inside, carpets dirty etc. Guest book upon check in, is very old fashioned and not sure I like the idea of my details in a Grand Hide witch style book, could be dangerous… 😃😂
It was the worst hotel experience we ever had in London. The room is tiny like a box. It faces to the street so it is really noisy all the time even when the small window is closed. The sound in the next room can be heard clearly. It’s hot but no conditioner. The stairs are narrow and steep, while no lifts. Taking a luggage was challenging and dangerous. The price for over £110 is unbelievable for such a room. Not worth of money at all.

Very friendly greeting on arrival. I had a job keeping the window open in the heat, then couldn’t close it later.
Overall this hotel served its purpose.
I was in a small basement room with no window. The shower was tiny, the telephone to ring reception did not work and it was not at all clear what one had to do at breakfast time.
It was a Tiny cramp room and the bathroom was even smaller. You had to ascend 5-6 flights of stairs on a spiral staircase with luggage. No elevator. . . Horrendous’
I had a great stay! Was made to feel very welcome, offered a choice of room and a complimentary drink upon check in! The staff are very personable and helpful. The room was great, reasonable size considering the excellent location and neighbourhood in central London. Had a great night sleep, and a very tasty cooked full English breakfast in the morning. Wifi was brilliant, and the location really doesnt get any better!! Look forward to staying again.
