I didn’t enjoy my stay at the Olympic House Hotel. I was injured on my way to the airport.
I arrived late that evening and looked forward to taking it easy for a few days. When I entered my room at 10:00 p.m. the window was wide open and cold. There was a smell coming from the bathroom which was 3 feet from the bed. There were no towels in the room. I called and asked for towels and was questioned about looking for the towels.
I explained it was cold in the room. I was never offered an additional blanket. The spread was stiff and didn’t look like it was washed often. I was always cold and I found that hotel sad and depressing. Cold and disappointed, I called Expedia and told them I didn’t want to stay there. I was informed that management refused to give me a refund. I spoke to the “manager “ the next day, who was argumentative, unsympathetic, and condescending. I have stayed in small hotels before. I have never had a “manager “ or employee speak to me in this manner. I could elaborate more. I checked out 5 days early and went to a much nicer hotel down the street. I’m giving this place two stars instead of one star, for two reasons. It is close to the Paddington station and the evening front desk clerk was incredibly kind, sympathetic, and compassionate. I limped down the street to my new hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in my lifetime. This is the first time I have ever had a situation like this. Thank you Expedia, for the partial refund.
