we were made very welcome and the receptionist was expecting us as I had requested via e mail a ground floor room if possible. The room we had was allocated with thought as to how far my husband had to walk to it, perfect. Although we were there only for 1 night the stay was very very good and we will definitely use this hotel again and have already recommended it to others.

The staff at The Royal Eagle was very helpful. Theybwent above and beyond to help us find locations to places in London. They helped tremendously with my Mom who is in a wheel chair. The Royal Eagle is clean and safe with a very friendly staff.

Small, dated but clean.
For me, the room was too hot, I could not find a way to turn down the heating, the room was small, I had to shuffle sideways past the bed, the bathroom was amazing, well how they managed to fit a shower, toilet and sink in such a small space was amazing. my shoulders pretty much touched either side wall (not for the claustrophobic). The shower again was a small cubical but the shower flow out performed the drain. All in all, clean but dated, small and too hot.

Great location for a budget stay
Great location and very helpful staff. The room was tiny and very hot. The double bed was shorter than a normal bed and one side was up against a wall making getting in and out very difficult. There was no over bed light so impossible to read in bed. Bizarrely there were dressmaking pins still sticking out of the curtain.

The staff at the Royal Eagle are OUTSTANDING! Friendly, warm,helpful — a real delight. This is our fifth time staying here, and we’ll certainly be back at the earliest opportunity!

The location proximity to Paddington station is excellent and it's quite pretty on the outside, but inside the rooms felt like a dormitory, the bathroom had a weird smell, and there was only 1 electrical plug I could find for the whole room. For the price I suppose it's good value compared to other London hotels but it is quite literally only a place to lay your head.

The. Room had no written information about how equipment in the room worked. -The TV did not work. I connected up the aerial. - the phone did not work. - The newish looking shower taps i could not work. I had to go out & find a cleaner to show me. - there were 2 safes in the wardrobe., with no instructions. Neither was secured to any fixed object & could have easily been taken away. Despite having a maintenance man show me, i was not able to get it unlocked. Several other staff also tried & were unable to open it. I had to wait for the following day for it to be opened. There was uncertaity about which was the new safe vs the old safe. Thd keys were not available to staff. - as the safe could not be opened., i had informed Reception that i needed items out of the safe, before i could pay the last 2 nights of my stay. That i would need to do so, only after the staffer came on duty & unlocked it. Despite this kniwledge, 1 staff xame to the door at 8.30am, with the credit card machine, askkng me to pay. - i had to pay a damage fee. Despite this, there was no agreement or joint viewing of the room, to know what was preexisting. There were cracks in the walls & on the tile inside the bathroom door, there were broken drawers, the window only opened a tiny amount, perhaps painted in? - however, the staff were lovely. - overrall it was a very small room, with no room to put a suitcase open anywhere, except on the floor in the access way. I expected better from your hotel.

We had a pleasant overnight stay with our children and the access to Paddington Station plus the park is great. Food options alo plenty and close by. We did have an annoying shower dripping most of the night and plumbing was squealing at us but they sorted it the next day. The room was spacious for the 4 of us which is not always the case with these places. Overall it was as we'd expected and hoped for.

This hotel was perfect for our overnight stay in London- very close to Paddington Station, close to restaurants and the tube. The room was small, but very clean, with a lovely view, all expected amenities, a lift and helpful staff. For a nominal fee we were able to leave our bags after checkout so that we could make a morning visit to the British Museum before our flight in the afternoon. Everything was perfect.

Rooms and showers are VERY small. On arrival we were given a room overlooking a wall..Bed against the wall so very inaccessible for two old people to be crawling over to get out of bed. I asked to move and it was no problem, very helpful...The rooms are not as pictured on the site,Very small bed..Thankful that the window opened a crack, as it was very hot, off course old buildings don't have air conditioning. Usually not an issue for us in London but this trip it was HOT.. Loved the location, better curtains to block out the light, the safe that was mentioned to us was laughable. Not secured down, confusing to work. A nice handy man came and secured the safe to the drwertop, and gave instruction on using the safe. The lovely women in the breakfast area was so nice. She cried when we. left, and it was touching. Loved this women, she should get a raise!
