My favorite DTLA hotel!

Always a great stay! This was the first time staying here with the kids so we opted for a private 4-bunk room & it was great! I'll always pick this place when I'm in downtown LA.

This hotel has a good location as it is in the middle of downtown so if your travel plans include the downtown area this place would work out great. They have several good options available in the hotel and around it which helps with options. However, I did not care for the food at the rooftop bar. My shrimp was uncooked and I had to send it back. There is also only Valet parking and it is not cheap. So if you are looking to self park you have to find a garage nearby and walk to the hotel. If you are a female solo traveler I would not say it is safe to walk around at night by the hotel but the hotel itself is safe. As far as sleeping arrangements: I got the 4 way dorm for females and that was fine for me but my floor was on the 13 floor which made the noise from the street travel up and it was loud as I was sleeping so get a different floor if you are a light sleeper.

Cheap rate, good amenities, good quality for a 4 bed quad (hostel vibe, amidst a hotel property), love that food is nearby. There is a gym, a little small but good enough for a quick vacay workout to not lose gains (4 cardio machines, one bench, decent set of dungbells and one machine (didnt quite take a look at it but i think it had lat pull downs plus some other adjustable usages.

We had a great stay at Freehand LA. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room was very cool, and the lobby was beautiful. However, we were disappointed that the restaurant and the lobby bar were closed during our stay.
