the premises are very clean and parking was easy. The room had been recently refurbished and bathroom was very clean - no mold smell, which can be a problem on the coast. Close to shopping/restaurants/beach. Point Lobos is just up the road. Helpful and friendly staff in the breakfast area and the main office. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed staying here, everything was within walking distance. There was no AC however the weather was perfect and we opened up a window and we were fine.

What's not to love about Carmel. This property is very old, but they are doing a good job at renovating it. It's still very much of a motel, but it's trying to be better and it shows. The property is very, very clean, and the location couldn't be better. Beware, walls are painfully thin so make good friends with your neighbors. I would recommend however, because, again it's appropriately priced for Carmel and the location is fantastic!

Great place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea! They claim to be a “basic motel” but in all honesty the rooms are quite large, beds are comfy, washroom and shower are a good size and have everything you need, and the place was clean. Free breakfast is great, parking is on site and easy, and the hotel is centrally located and only a few minutes walk from restaurants. Small downside is no AC; that being said, you don’t really spend your day in the hotel room, and at night Carmel cools down quite a bit, so AC was never needed anyways. Would highly recommend staying here if looking for a more affordable option in Carmel without sacrificing location and cleanliness.

Love staying at this hotel in camel. It’s close by all camel downtown’s shops and restaurants, a local small grocery store right by the corner and very easy to get in and out of the city if you want go somewhere for sightseeing. Only wish the hotel can have a better air condition system, and improve its building elevator condition.

We had such a wonderful stay here! We were celebrating a birthday and I messaged the hotel to ask if we could possibly get an upper floor with a nice view. They gave us an incredible room with an amazing view of the bay! Fireplace and a deck with plenty of room to sit. The location of the hotel is perfect to walk right into downtown Carmel for great restaurants, shops, and wine tasting! You can walk to the beach as well. It’s a little bit of a hill coming back up from the beach, but no need to drive.

Very hot room
Very hot room. No a/c and we got one of the rooms with no cross ventalation. Took 3 hours to cool room down and half hour of that with our door wide open. Had other guests stop and stare into our room. No other way to cool room off. If you come on a cool day the hotel would probably be great. Good location, comfortable bed and good breakfast.

Great location and easy walking access to downtown Carmel. There is an excellent market and deli next door should you have any snack, lunch or grocery needs. Front desk was great and the room was spacious, clean and up to date. We have stayed at a few B&B type motels in Carmel and we will definitely be using this one again.

Luis checked me in and was basically my main point of contact throughout my stay. Our room unfortunately had an issue during the second night of our stay but Luis was quick to resolve the issue by getting us into another room with the similar amenities we booked for. Thank you Luis for your amazing customer service. My boyfriend and I stayed here as a small getaway for my birthday. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Overall, our stay was quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. Great property in a convenient location with walkable food and shopping options. Staff is also great!
