I guess you get what you pay for
Been coming here for more than 15 years, mainly because of location and price. But now we have to move on. Even after remodel, it just feels dirty and very dated. Also, parking is extremely difficult and hotels lot has very narrow spaces and is on a rather steep slope, so expect dents and scratches from cars next to it as they struggle to open doors uphill, or they fly open down slope. I guess we’re just getting old because all the slippery stairs, no allowed use of outdoor sitting/ fireplace area are just too hard to overlook any longer, even if the place is $75 or so a night cheaper than others nearby Sorry

We had adjoining rooms which was great. Short walk to Ocean Avenue so easy access to shopping and restaurants. Nice staff but older rooms with a few minor issues. Would stay here again as it was a very good value.

We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. The property is older, but clean with a comfortable bed and the price was very reasonable. The best part was being in the heart of beautiful Carmel, able to walk everywhere easily. Would recommend!

First disappointing stay from places on this site
The room was decent , but the door just has a knob lock and looked like it had been broken into before . The door has scratches bad on the outside by the lock . We put a chair under the knob for safety . The worst part was the parking situation. It says parking available on site but it’s like 5-8 spots first come first serve and it’s a very busy area . We had to leave hazard light on to unload by the room and park three blocks away and when I asked about parking I got a quick rude answer that parking is limited and we just have to find wherever we can .

Cute and reasonably priced Inn close to downtown Carmel by the Sea. Two story with outdoor steps and no elevator. Loud neighbors across the courtyard and walls thin. Sufficient for weekend trip to the coast, however older establishment with no modern amenities. Parking tight in lot next to building on hill and angled spots, otherwise street parking.

The location was great, within walking distance to bars, cafes, shopping, etc. Although the premises had a car park it was over subscribed and you would loose your spot if you went out. Parking on the street was difficult to find. For the price you are paying - breakfast should've been included. The place was clean and cosy. The negative was that you couldn't check-in until 3pm even thought the room was available.
