This is an older hotel, but the location is perfect. So easy to get around Monterey and enjoy the area. My only gripe was that the lighting was inconvenient. One light on ceiling that was super bright and two wall sconces that were no where near the bed. I would stay here again though.

Wonderful historical hotel
We loved our stay. We chose a historical room and really loved it. The architecture is beautiful, we checked out the old elevator next to the check in desk (it doesn’t work obviously but was really neat). The location is amazing, close to everything. Definitely would stay again.

This hotel is charming, conveniently situated near coffee shops, restaurants, tourist shops and more. Parking is available very close by. I stay here every few months and it never disappoints!

Historic, charming hotel in Old Monterey conveniently located to many restaurants, shopping and the Golden State Theatre. Although the room and bathroom were not very spacious because of its historic nature, it was clean and we had a great night's rest. Staff was friendly and there is a grab-and-go breakfast (mainly fruits, coffee and tea.) Would definitely stay again if back in the area for its charm and convenient location.

This is a great stay at a local hotel with reasonable prices. It is conveniently located directly on Alvarado Street, the main street of Monterey and within walking distance of Del Monte Beach, the Monterey Wharf, and Cannery Row. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly, and it has charm.
