There are many choices in Berkeley. The Shattuck has been there forever yet has moved with the times. Modern, excelent bar, sitting areas, food, dining, rooms are large and comfortable, BART is just out front, staff is helpfull and always willing. The chain hotels are there, but The Shattuck is a far superior choice.

What a cool hotel with a huge amount of charm and character! The location is fantastic for walking and access to dining and drinking options. The staff was very helpful, the bar drinks fantastic, and we loved the rooms! What a great hotel! Of course the neighborhood is on the edge of being a bit rough.

There are several hotel choices in Berkeley. The "Shattuck" is a classic that has moved with the times. Everything is up to date. Food is wonderful. Great bar. Very comfortable rooms, beds, baths. Service is young but efficient & gracious. Bart & shopping is at your front door. You can't do better in Berkeley, even if you pay more.

The property is nice and our room was quiet and it was clean. We did not receive an Expedia VIP amenity. There was also some confusion on our check-in as the reservation was under CB Hunsberger, which is also the way my name appears on the credit card. The staff thought I should call Expedia to change it to my full name, which is Christopher Hunsberger-this is the first time this has ever happened and being that my name is the same as on the card and that’s the only way I could pre-pay my reservation request from the staff did not make sense.

Wonderful location and vibe
The stay was great. It's our second time here and we really like the hotel vibe and location. There was only one annoying little things which was a sporadic noise that came from the fridge every 20 min or so. Not a huge deal but it did distract us a little.
