I have stayed at the Beresford Arms on several occassions and I am always very happy with the accommodations. The rooms are bright, clean, and comfortable. It is my favorite place to stay when visiting San Francisco.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The hotel is very old but it has charm. It’s not in the best of areas however it’s very close to Union Square, the BART, and the trams. The staff we lovely and courteous. It’s very basic but it worked well for us as we were out all day, everyday. The only we had was the noise on one night but that is out of the control of the hotel. I would stay here again.
Personel was very friendly and helpful. We asked for an hour late check out and they accommodated us with that. We arrived very later on Tuesday because of a situation with another hotel. We felt immediately welcome with the entrance and personal at this late arrival hour.
The room was surprisingly spacious, and the property was well maintained. The neighborhood is a little rough, but we appreciated only having to walk a few blocks for dinner and a few blocks to the Great American Music Hall for a concert. Bring your ear plugs...noise from the street might be tough for light sleepers. Also, no A/C...so check the weather if you're traveling in the summer.
Our bedroom is clean. The breakfast was ok. We know that it’s an old hotel so we understand that it’s a bit rundown.. that was ok with us. What we don’t like is there are lots of homeless people around the area and they were so noisy at night. We barely slept because of that.
Lovely heritage site hotel, offers historic atmosphere, wonderful lobby, great dining nearby, valet parking option, lovely staff, good continental breakfast and afternoon wine/cheese.
Hotel is described as historic and it is sadly in need of a makeover. Water pressure was poor, no AC, bathrooms are so old with rust. Very noisy area as well as lots of homeless who loiter in doorways. The staff do their best to accommodate although the day we arrived the City was repaving street in front so there was no where to pull up and unload. They directed us to the parking garage 3 blocks away to self park and carry our luggage back. Their breakfast buffet was uninviting with yogurt, apple, and store bought pastry. Dont bother staying here!
Lots of local options to eat at. And they are open late too! It may get a little noisy outside the hotel but you can ask for earplugs if you want them. It's a historical building so beds might be a little creaky but otherwise, staff were friendly and the place was clean. We also did valet parking for 2 nights and no problems.
This was a very nice property! Loved the rooms and bedding. Very comfortable. SFO is noisy city so it's not hotels fault. It's the city life. Management and staff was very attentive and the continental breakfast and coffee was just right. I will definitely come back again. Thanks to manager Victor.
Hotel was good, clean, spacious and accommodating. However the neighbourhood noise was disturbing to sleep and peace of mind. Litterally had to dodge feces on streets and visible drug use of street people. Unfortunate. Great theatre and excellent restaurants one block over.
