The place was little late about overall. We found it absolutely charming. The staff was super nice is very clean.Every moment's helpful and we really had a great stay.
If we do return to san francisco I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.
The area around is not so great. But when you step through the doors, it is clean when I felt safe.
Breakfast was served, it was simple, but it was fresh and everything tasted good.
Our room had a kitchenette and a murphy bed, which was perfect for us.I really thought this was a nice place to stay.I love the high ceilings and the extra hot water as well as the jedi.Tub which was a surprise.
The bed and pillows were super comfortable. I appreciate that the room had fans for my personal use. Continental breakfast and wine and tea happy hour are better than most hotels in the area. The room is large and had a little kitchenette. On the negative side everything is dated. It’s like living in 1980 all over again.
Absolutely amazing property to stay at. They were so welcoming and accommodating. They really went out of their way for our engagement and I appreciate the staff wholeheartedly. The location had some iffy spots around but really made the best out of it with an amazing stay and awesome food / drinks near by!

Old building beds are terrible. Service was good. Continental breakfast was pretty much a joke.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Property was aged. The carpet in our room was quite stained. The help were very nice. The location was north of tenderloin and would not recommend a less fit person ( disabled) or woman walking alone at night. The lobby was very nice and the breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese bar were nice additives.

Comfy beds, lots of amenities and space, rather old fashioned furnishings in a grand old building.

The area is sketchy. We heard gun shots and ambulances all night long. Getting out of cars at night for valet we did not feel safe. The hotel is older and amenities are scarce but our room was nice- hot showers- good water pressure. Comfy beds and clean sheets. We did find mosquitos in the room but to be expected. Parking is pricey at $57 per night. Continental breakfast was basic but good.
This hotel is in a great location. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The $46 valet parking was a little suprising, but still cheaper than most other hotels. Rooms are very spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. There is no A/C but the windows can be opened ( for cool ocean breeze) and they have portale fans. It is a historic building & must that way.
It was in a terrible area. Very old room was dirty. When I left in morning at 5:20am I gave Calvin my valet ticket and he said it would be 30mins to retrieve my car. I explained I had to go work so he said I could walk to parking garage 2 blocks down on left. It was almost 6 blocks walking through homeless, urine and feces on the sidewalk. I am 60 year old Female and have never been more scared! When I finally found the garage it took 10 minutes for the guy to bring my car down. TERRIBLE!
Our stay at the Beresford was nice for the most part. The building inside had a feel of uniqueness about it. The continental breakfast was adequate. We did not have any housekeeping while we were there, so can’t respond to that. We had a junior suite and it was nice. The water pressure in the sinks were really weak but the front desk was told at checkout. The television was not the best. The noise at night is like any other big city, lots of ambulances screaming in the middle of the night. One night we were there it sounded like a round of guns were fired, very scary! Maybe just fireworks at 3:00am. Drugs were being sold on Jones Ave.the corner of the hotel so we got some screaming annd yelling in the middle of the night. And right outside our window. Beds were comfortable. All in all, for the money we spent to stay there, it was average.
Great property. Excellent staff. Easy walk to the Masonic Auditorium.

Not worrh $200 a night
The hotel had charm but definitely outdated furniture that was poor quality. The floors were dirty in our room. It looked as if the room service only wiped down the room and not clean it. There was so much dust, including under the beds. The outside of the toilet was filthy, and there were stains on the furniture. If its wasn't for the charm, it would have made this experience awful.
New manager of hotel, Vince, couldn’t do enough for us. So friendly and accommodating. Older hotel with old world charm. Very clean and comfortable. Daily continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese reception. Junior suite was very roomy with kitchenette. No AC but fans were provided in suite.
