I was not informed the room key was needed to reach my floor but I figured it out quickly. There was no rain shower in my room despite it looking like there was a pipe for it. The hot water never came to my sink after running it for a minute or two. The motorized shades were nice. Took a bit to figure out how to turnout the lights in the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The property looks fantastic but the tiny rooms, dirty carpets, and basis food at the post in made me give it 4 stars. The rooftop bar was incredible”IF” you call days ahead to book a table. There was 20 tables available at 6 pm yet all were somehow booked. Ok I get it, People will be coming in, no one came. We left and it was still semi empty. Went down to eat and paid $50 dollars for the most basic lobster raviolis. Yes there was fresh lobster in the dish so I understand the price but this was the most mediocre looking/tasting ravioli I’ve ever had. All 3 dishes I ordered were the same, Mediocre. The drinks and the service was 5 stars. The location is great for jumping on off trolley. The bar had a great vibe, live music, great service. IMO go get a drink here, enjoy the buildings history/beauty, rooftop, live music and stay at a hotel that has bigger rooms and better food. Solid 4 stars.

Great place to stay in San Francisco! We were a 5 minute walk to lots of shopping and restaurants were everywhere. There was a stop for the cable car right outside the hotel as well. Room was clean. The rooftop bar was also fun and convenient for a cocktail at the end of the night. Would stay here again

The hotel is nice, well located and the bar on the 21st floor is lovely. Unfortunately the staff were dismissive and rude for the most part. I left my wife to check in while I parked the car, they notably treated her differently to other guests checking in because she was there solo, didn’t ask her the same questions as other guests and left out standard information that I later had to go and ask. They also messed up our bill for the bar and incidentals, which I’m still waiting on a resolution for. Overall the place is nice. Just expect poor service.

A San Fran Fave
Love staying at this place anytime I'm in San Fran. It's conveniently located and has a historic feel in the lobby and the bar. One of my favorite parts is the water bottle filling station in every hallway. It's eco-friendly and you don't have to worry about where to find potable water. The beds and sheets are so comfy. Awesome bar on the top floor that stays open late too.

Generally really good place to stay. The area has its problems but that won’t be a surprise to anyone familiar with SF, and it’s convenient for visiting many of the sights and taking cable car. Comfortable bed, good shower. The extra charge at the end ($35 per night) came as a surprise- perhaps it’s standard and I didn’t read the small print!!
