This hotel is in a very convenient location on State Street, surrounded by many restaurants, bars, and stores. It's a half-mile walk to the beach and Stearns Wharf. The immediate area seems geared towards the collegiate crowd. The hotel was undergoing renovation so the temporary lobby was small. Staff was very friendly.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is being beautifully restored. We took the train and it was an easy walk to the hotel. It is on the State Street Promenade - exceptionally walk able. Restaurants and shopping right outside the door. The bikes were the cherry on top. The only thing I could comment on was that the pillows were too hard, which was minor.

The room was ok, but we were really bummed on the redesign. We stayed at the hotel a few months ago and really liked the spanish style. The finishes are pretty cheap and don’t go together. The tv placement is awkward. The shower water didn’t drain. The bed was fine but the room is not as nice as it was.

Fire Alarm Woke Me Up 🤕
It was upsetting that when booking I wasn't informed that this hotel was under construction. I received a notification after I had booked. I went to rest and was awoken by the fire alarm going off. Very unpleasant.

Nice property. Clean, friendly staff, excellent facilities. The downtown is nice, but unfortunately suffers from CA issues.

Very convenient location but we were shocked at the $30 parking charge. We also didn't realize that the lobby is undergoing renovation which was inconvenient but the location made up for it.

I've stayed in this hotel before. I had a nice visit. There are renovations going on, and that was an inconvenience, but the staff did their best under the circumstances. I plan to stay at this hotel again in the future.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Barbara the first week of October ‘24. Remodeling activity was extensive meaning that some floors were totally closed. No bar or restaurant was available either. Location is very good, 6 blocks from the beach and in the middle of shopping and restaurants. The staff were very friendly.
