Strange experience from beginning to end. We took a shuttle to the property, but the entire drop off area was sealed off with cones and there was no where for the driver to park—verified that with the concierge! So after parking in a neighboring parking structure we had to schlep our bags a block to the entrance. Reception was very courteous, but verified there was no other access, and didn’t know why it was closed off.
Once in our room, the temperature was in the 60’s—FREEZING. We turned on the heat, but even after an hour the temp was still the same. They sent someone to check, but he couldn’t do anything to change it. The room was freezing cold for 6 HOURS—going up 1 degree in those 6 hours, till it finally reached 71°. In the meantime we had to ask for blankets because the coverlet on the bed was just a lightweight sheeting.
Our room was a large suite with 2 very large flat screen tvs, but we had to crawl into bed immediately for warmth so we didn’t really get to enjoy the space.
The rooms are very spare—mini-kitchen but no utensils—not even a spoon. No drinking glasses. No soap, no shampoo, no shower cap. Beautiful large bathtub, but we really never did anything but shiver under the covers. By morning the suite was 70°—better but still too cold for comfort. We just packed up and checked out early. Breakfast was okay, but missing some key items. Pancakes, french toast or toast but no butter anywhere. No waffle maker; a staple in most breakfasts. We won’t be back
