We booked Experience Platinum Hotel Apartments in October 2019, only to be told at check in that the hotel is full due to Australian Open, so they will have to move us across the street to their sister hotel, Bella Apartments.
There was no point in arguing since there was a 100% occupancy so we hoped the room and the hotel would be just as good as the one bedroom apartment we had originally booked. However, from the initial contact with a not very helpful receptionist, we felt that would not be the case. The room was quite okay except that the carpet was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen, certainly not associated with a 4 star hotel we booked. The balcony window was broken and the room was a lot smaller than the one we booked. Also, Bella did not have an indoor pool & spa we planned to utilise, nor was the gym as good as the one we choose.
At least we came in for the Open and did not spend much time in the room.
To cap it off, after checking out, we left a laptop charger plugged in the wall, and having called the hotel about it, the lady in a call centre for Experience 'Platinum' Hotels said she would let us know if they find it, despite having explained to her exactly where I left it.
She never called back so the next day, she said she would follow up with the room services, only to tell me a few hours later that nothing was found.
Overall, terrible experience and a first complaint I made, despite staying in dozens of hotels every year, being a gold (not Platinum) member.
