The King George hotel had a lot of positives and negatives hence the 3 score. Staff great and hotel spotless. Negatives were the noise of the strike and road noise through the single glazed windows. We had no hot water and at times no water in the shower during our stay. Breakfast is a great touch but really there is a $10 charge per room per night and never really got told what for. Overall it was fine but noise and water a serious problem. Rooms small

My room had no hot water glad I didn’t go with it was cold. On this particular trip it was hot the days I was there and all the hotel offers is a ceiling fan. Unfortunately that’s unacceptable due to the fact it’s 90 plus degrees and a ceiling fan rotating hot air. Very muggy

Very old hotel, terrible tiny rooms, smelly carpet, didn’t have hot water during my stays, and there is no AC functioning in the rooms above the 1st floor. On top of all of that they still charge you for amenities and hold a deposit, which I haven’t had back yet

Other than some noise from a nearby protest, we enjoyed our stay at the King George. Great location with lots of restaurants & shopping nearby, and easy transportation to all the big tourist attractions. Only major complaint would be the lack of water pressure in the shower and no air conditioning. But overall an enjoyable stay.

It was what I had expected, small older rooms but were updated and clean. This is an older hotel, many times refurbished, with smaller rooms. It was good as I was there for a night. Pricing was good.

The staff was welcoming and helpful, we arrived earlier than our check in time and were unable to check in so the staff offered to store our luggage so that we could leave and start our holiday immediately which was so kind. Our room was clean. The housekeeping did a great job, we would come back to our room with clean towels and a made bed. There was a small breakfast available with coffee and tea. There was fresh fruit and pastries as well, it was small but as advertised. The hotel was clean and friendly and we would definitely go back. It was close to the BART station and easy to get around from the hotel.

This was a great hotel for the price! Wonderful coffee service in the morning with fresh fruit and muffins. The staff was lovely and the rooms are clean and have a few modern touches for an old building. Lovely lobby as well.

Tiny tiny bathroom
Location to shops, restaurants and even Chinatown was great. The room we were given 211 was super small. The bathroom was a joke. You practically had to climb over the toilet to get into the bath/shower. We had no hot water in the middle of the day. The room was clean. There is no mini fridge in the room. Our window was frosted glass so you couldn’t look outside. I understand that this is a very old hotel but I was led to believe it was much bigger. Staff were nice and friendly. You pay $10 for morning coffee and pastries

Fantastic location, close to Union Square so walking distance to several resto and shopping. Staff were really friendly, and they allowed me to do early check in. The rooms were spacious and the bed really comfortable. Definitely great value for money. Highly recommended
