In a pinch, this place will do, but don't expect anything but very basic accommodation. We'd already paid upfront and were too cheap to take the loss so we endured but we wanted to leave after only being there one night. Firstly, we stayed in the 'private' room but it wasn't exactly private (there are open windows into the main room) so you can hear EVERYTHING. You are also in a dorm but it has a paper/wood door instead of a curtain.
Secondly, it was not staffed 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed there. That's probably the main reason for the below problems we experienced:
1) People cooking food (even smelly fish) at 1am. Making loud noises using the kitchen equipment that EVERYONE can hear.
2) A man preaching to everyone trying to get them to join some scam. He was trying to get everyone to fork over money so he can cure cancer basically.
3) Empty bowls that had food in left on the bathroom sinks.
4) Pee all over the toilet floors daily.
5)Someone actually managed to get feces all over on of the toilet lids one day.
6) People having phone calls at 2am so everyone can hear.
Basically, fine if you're only staying one night and need a place just to sleep and then leave immediately, but don't be us and book your entire Tokyo stay here.
