Check in was very easy & efficient. There are plenty of staff to help at the computerized kiosk to check in. We booked a room with 2 twin beds, room 836 and it was very small and cramped. There is no wardrobe / closet / drawers. You won't be able to unpack. Our 2 carry on luggage, when opened was very tight. The walls are a bit scuffed up and the curtains need to be changed (looked dirty). Otherwise the bed & bathroom was very clean. There is no view in this room. A couple days later, we joined a tour and got moved to room 2256. The layout of this room is much better and bigger with 2 twin beds. This room has 2 windows and faces office buildings with a light show on the building on Saturday night and we can some greenery on the left. Both room 836 & 2256 felt "stuffy" even with the AC on. We requested a portable AC, which the staff promptly delivered both times.

It was a good stay but I would advise to better train non Japanese staff in Japanese language skills, standards of culturally acceptable service provision and attitudes, and familiarity in Japan, neighborhoods and social norms.

Love love love the hotel. Just a walk about to Shinjuku JR station, there’s an airport limousine pickup and drop off that is nearby, room comes with bathtub and there’s a konbini just downstairs. They also provide a luggage delivery service. Only cons is that the room is tiny. So don’t expect space to open your large size luggage.

Overall property was nice with good amenities. Easy check in process with helpful staff. Hotel has an airport limo bus stop right outside which makes it very convenient. Had a single room which could use a slight renovation upgrade, but otherwise no problems. Room size was good enough.

It was so welcoming and all the Christmas decoration made this hotel so very cozy. I wanted to sit by every Christmas tree and the lobby was so warm and inviting!! Walking was not fun but the view and everything else was AMAZING!!

Faded glory best describes this property, and that's not a compliment. Billing itself as a four-star property, the Shinjuku Washington is generally on par with a standard 2-3 star business hotel. It's clean but cramped and has some very weird "hospitality" at points that is quite off-putting. But for the price, the lack of amenities and lack of customization is appalling. The windows don't open and the A/C is centrally controlled, meaning the entire hotel has a 'stuffy' feeling that gets worse as you move from lobby to hallway to your room. Sure it's clean, but it's so stuffy it never actually FEELS clean because there's always dust or something in the air. The basic room is tiny, particularly if you have more than 2 bags. They don't make up for this with any public space in the hotel, either. There's no business center or lounge in the hotel somehow, and the private business listed as a "business center" on the building map is unaffiliated with the hotel and hostile to non-Japanese persons. There's also no public bath or really any other public space than a few seats in the lobby, which also feels very hostile. We're paying a premium to stay in this hotel, but to actually sit down for a minute in something like a lounge would be nice. Instead, we're directed to the restaurants to pay for space... the breakfast at the rooftop restaurant had a nice view but mediocre food. Oh, and it's 15 minutes walk to the station too.

Staff are nice esp Ngoc at the front desk was very helpful getting the concert ticket for my daughter by calling the local post office to deliver the concert tickets to the hotel in time. My daughter enjoyed the concert happily though it was pouring rain on that evening
