Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Nice enough but not wonderful
A nice old school Bed and Breakfast in a good location for the event we were attending on Plymouth Hoe .
It’s all a bit tired but the room was clean and pleasant enough and the reception staff were very friendly .
No parking was available on the day and it’s £12 a night if it is which is on a par with the multi storey a few hundred metres away .
All in all it was fine for our needs on this trip but am surprised that it has such a high (9.6 when we booked ) rating especially given the price is similar to much plusher hotels in the area but good luck to them !
Booked for 1 night ss we were in Plymouth for the Bryan Adams concert.
Centrally located, friendly staff.
They do offer breakfast but we didnt eat in the hotel so cannot comment.
Good service at the hotel, spotless facilities in the room and communal areas, excellent and good value breakfast.
Let down by awkward, tandem car parking facilities, broken light in bathroom (acknowledged by hotel) and by receiving nine "spam" like e mails from the umbrella owners' company in the week before arrival, the later ones asking if we had enjoyed our stay before we had even checked in!

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Used to be amazing - now poor
Used to be fabulous but new changes brought in have spoilt it. Now a lukewarm buffet breakfast when it used to be table service for much less money. Car park now £12 when it used to be included. Room wasn’t clean. The staff who have been there a long time are as wonderful as ever but everything else is now poor.
Room was nice but charging £12.50 to park in the hotel car park is ludicrous. Especially as I had to move a car that was blocking me in the following morning.
The hotel and rooms were smart, clean and well presented. Breakfast was very good.
There is no air conditioning in the rooms and on a hot night this required having the window open all night which meant it was quite noisy.
Car parking is absolute chaos though, tiny car park which means most cars are blocked in and they charge you £15.00 which seems very high.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights and it was excellent. The location was great, the price was very good, the room had good amenities & we were able to cook breakfast easily both mornings. 10/10 would highly recommend
Great place to stay in a convenient part of Plymouth. Very close to The Theatre Royal and The Pavilion.
Lots of stairs to Top floor where our room was which was not easy to carry suitcase to. Room very quiet.
Breakfast lovely and cooked to order. Shame they had no salmon available the morning we were there.
The staff were lovely - very helpful. Our room at the top of the hotel was quite small and the toilet/shower room was tiny. Breakfast was good. We were a bit surprised to be charged £12.50 for parking as that was never mentioned in the booking process. Overall very happy and would stay again.
Lovely little hotel, centrally placed to visit all Plymouth has to offer. Staff very helpful and friendly serving a delicious breakfast each morning. Great value for money too. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful old building, lovely big room, super staff, good location. Only criticisms are access to power sockets on just one side of bed and poorly fitting sash window. Worth understanding that check in times are due to no staff onsite after 8.30pm so late arrival matters, they aren't just being difficult. Public car parking in Barbican/Hoe areas is pay and display on road mostly, so hotel charge of £12.50 for 24 hrs is cheaper, but if your car is only there overnight the road can be a lot less.
We have stayed at the Imperial Plymouth many times and it never disappoints...the staff are so friendly, the breakfast is yummy and we always leave feeling very refreshed...can't wait for our next stay in October.
(The only 'downside' is that they are now charging for parking which only came in this year - it wouldn't stop us staying again but this was one of the reasons we liked this hotel and just wanted to mention it to the new owners as I am sure that we aren't the first to make this comment.)
