Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
I rarely write hotel reviews, but since I booked this stay based on others’ reviews, I felt it was important to share my experience.
The more time I spent at this hotel, the more confused I became about the glowing reviews on Expedia.
The key takeaway: lower your expectations. This is not a luxury hotel. It’s an old property that’s been renovated. The rooms are small and basic—a bed, a desk, and minimal light. The gym is just a small room with a few machines. Amenities are sparse, making this better suited for a business trip than a vacation.
Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I booked for my wife’s birthday based on Expedia’s high rating, which also falsely claimed the hotel had a spa (it does not). Upon arrival, the lobby looked nice, but the walkways revealed the building’s age, and there was a weird, old smell in the hallway leading to our room. Our ground-floor room was small, and dark.
We politely asked the front desk to switch rooms, only to be met with rudeness. The staff member scolded us, saying, "You don’t do that to a hotel," and acted as if our request was a major inconvenience. Eventually, she reluctantly moved us but continued to lecture me.
The new room wasn’t much better—the TV didn’t work, and while the engineer who fixed it was kind, it added to an already disappointing first day.
This is, at best, a 3-star hotel. If you’re looking for a comfortable, luxury stay or plan to spend much in the hotel, I’d advise against booking here.
