Great location but nothing special
Generally a bit run down. Bathroom shower door leaked, bathroom plumbing (waste) was poor. Bathroom blind was not well secured to the ceiling. Bed was good. In room refreshments very basic, plenty of coffee and herbal tea but only a single PG Tips standard tea bag and a single hot chocolate sachet. Did the job for one night, and no real complaints but not much to praise other than being nice and central in Nottingham.

Oldest hotel in Nottingham!
We had a pleasant stay, very helpful and friendly staff checked us in. We stayed on the 4th floor and so had the opportunity to use the stunning staircase. Loved the history of the hotel and the numerous period features. Really is a stunning building. We stayed in one of the hotels city pad rooms which had everything we needed but was very small with the bed pushed against the wall so one person had to climb over the other to get out! The central location was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again but would probably book a standard room rather than the city pad room.

Lovely hotel, very quirky and stylish, not just a boring copy-and-paste hotel room. Friendly staff and efficient check-in. Room was on the small side but had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Super quick check-out process. Will definitely stay here again!

Parking is round the corner in the Pilcher Gate NCP, £14 per night. The hotel is more than adequate, its location in the heart of the thriving nightlife of Hockley gives it the edge over others

Great location but room was not cleaned as we found peoples socks just laying around the room in plain sight along with used ear plugs also room was really dated needs a big upgrade.

The hotel itself is clean and fine and staff are nice. But, don't go expecting a good night's sleep at the weekend, especially on the second floor as there's a club below it and the bass reverberation will keep you awake (earplugs provided by the hotel should have given me a clue). This is far more than just street noise. You'll be fine if you're on a stag or hen weekend as the music will be finished by the time you get back. I wasn't, so two nights of terrible sleep, and unable to change rooms as they were full was not a pleasant experience.

Good location BUT - pub downstairs very noisy until 2 am on Saturday/ Sunday Small room compared with other hotels of same price Poor lighting in room Smoke alarm flashes all the time over the bed - very disturbing Room was not cleaned despite me leaving the sign on the door Would not recommend staying here and woukd not return
