I didn’t quite understand the half board system. We could have breakfast but when it came to the evening meal we could only have the main course. No starter and no sweet. They said we could only have half half board. Very strange. Not the greatest choice either from the menu unless you chose something with a black star next to it, then you had to pay extra.

lovely hotel
We stayed in a newly refurbished room on the 6th floor. The room was extremely clean and the the bed was very comfortable. it was very quiet. breakfast was very good. particularly enjoyed the sausages and bacon and lovely jam and marmalade. will definitely stay again and will be recommending to friends.

A very enjoyable stay in a perfect location
First visit back to Birmingham for 25 years since I lived there and chose the Hilton Garden for its prime location for a reunion with friends. The hotel is in a great location, close enough to the many bars and restaurants but out of way enough to not have any issue with noise or traffic. Staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms comfortable and clean - all in all a very enjoyable stay .

Lovely hotel, helpful staff particularly on check-in, really nice products in the bathroom and a lovely fluffy towels! The only thing I have to quibble on is the price of the snacks - it was £2.50 for a 40g bag of crisps and when I tried to pay with cash it was accepted. At least it saved me my money as my card was in my room and I only had cash on me so couldn't buy it in the end, but it is a huge issue that they were so expensive in the first place and that our country's legal tender is declined! Apart from that a lovely stay, thank you.

The welcome at this Hilton was not as expected to be honest. We were early to arrive, however when I enquired if I could check I was the room wasn’t ready but if I wanted to pay £20 an hour I could check in!! There was no welcome to Hilton etc The bathroom was tired and teeny tiny. The beds oh my days how lovely they looked after a long day but the mattress so hard and I like a firm mattress. Staff at breakfast could do with a customer service course snappy and clearly not happy in their job. The hotel was busy but no condiments on tables no salt or pepper etc not what is expected for £200 plus a night. But that said had a good time in Birmingham great location for Utilita Arena and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Taxi service from out front was also super easy.

The room was dirty, there was crumbs and a small bottle of chilli oil left under the dressing room draws, I only saw it what I sat down. The heat and ventilation authentic was noisy, I turned it off at the thermostat but I carried on rattling away all night. It’s a good job I had had a few beers to help me sleep….
