Booked for theatre trip to Hippodrome- great location in China Town, parking under the hotel, close to New Street station and 10 minutes from ICC, Sea Life and NIA. Good shower, comfy bed - typical Ibis.

Good location. Didn't really need much from the staff but they were friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is very basic, a bit old fashioned and tatty in places. Perfectly clean though. Car park is not for the feint hearted. If you've anything other than a small car, I'd use one of the other nearby car parks.

Okay for what was needed
Went up for a 2 night stay to see a band playing at a venue nearby. The room was good for what it was needed for. The weather was really hot but the cooling "radiator" wasn't really effective. When walking into the building, it was hotter and more humid than outside. Coming out of the lift onto our floor was even worse, the air was really difficult to breathe. Also, the pillows were also pretty thin and there wasn't much in terms of tea/coffee/sugar/milk - 2 of each item. However the staff were all lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was all nice too, a good selection of foods from a cooked breakfast to fruits and cereals.

Good location, clean and staff were nice
The staff were welcoming and friendly. The reception and communal areas were stiflingly hot. The room was also hot and had a machine that could blow cool air although we also had the window open. The room was clean and the size was okay. the bathroom was very small and a bit difficult to to move around it but it was clean. We stayed for 1 night and it was fine for that. We didn't pay for breakfast but it looked okay from what I saw. The loction was very good an we walked to New Street Station and walked back from the Utilita arena

The building is in need of air conditioning as it was very hot and stuffy especially in the reception area. However, this was the only criticism as the rooms are exceptionally clean and supplied with tea/coffee, toiletries, big towels and comfy beds. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and are a credit to the company!

Rooms need updating. pillows need replacing. almost non existent. also the room was very very sickly warm with only a little fan to cool down. the windows only opened slightly. felt sick and had no sleep. will not stay again

We had a great stay, the staff were friendly and attentive and one went out of his way to help as I have a feeding tube that got blocked and so I couldn't syringe my medication through it. I needed someone with more strength than I had to push the medication through the syringe and he didn't hesitate to answer my request for help. This was typical of the help and support and willingness to make sure we had a comfortable stay that all the staff had demonstrated during our stay. We will certainly com again, and it was so convenient for eating places and shops.

Stayed 2 nights with friends during Edgbaston test match. Hotel is basic and functional. Very warm in public areas and bedrooms as no air conditioning. Bedroom windows can be opened (with restricted opening) but in a very popular and busy area in Chinatown for the night time economy so very loud on a Saturday night until around 4 am. One of the two lifts out of service throughout out stay and stairwell some distance away from reception lobby. Breakfast was more than acceptable but quite a small area in comparison to the number of rooms and people were waiting for tables to become available on Sunday morning. Aside from the night time noise the hotel is very well located for the City Centre and New Street station/Bullring shopping
