I really like this hotel. It’s nice and convenient. I love the open reception/lobby/restaurant. The area is beautiful. You can walk to nice restaurants, and many attractions, as well as to the train station.
The only thing I don’t like is that when you arrive after 11:00pm there is nothing to eat or drink available. Not even snacks. And there is nothing open close by. Other than this, the place is very recommendable.

Liked: Staff & service
The reception and bar area are great.
The rooms are ok, they are quite basic and lack personality compared to the downstairs area which is fab
The bed was far too hard for me, hardly had any sleep and left the hotel with a bad back! So will not be returning unless they have different beds in other rooms

I like this hotel. It is on the only remaining Georgian square in Birmingham and is within an old building. The rooms are a good size and breakfast is lovely. The downpoints are that rooms on the road are noisy (only single glazed). The lift is out of order and has been on previous visits, the bed we had was uncomfortable and too small for the bed base. The TV channels were limited, no BBC or othwr basic channels despite retuning. Wifi needs a code entered and you need a new code for each item you have
Great stay, comfortable, well equipped room. Good location on edge of Jewellery Quarter and Business District. Friendly bar on ground floor.
Only gripe was that lift not working which meant lugging cases up 4 flights ofstairs.
Lovely hotel on a beautiful leafy square. We stayed in superior room and it had some lovely design features that made it extra special
Only downside was no bottled water in room and no espresso machine as advertised in room listing
The hotel and associated bar/restaurant exceeded my expectations especially based upon what i paid for the room.
It's in a nice, quiet location but not too far from the city centre.
The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The complimentary drinks were an especially nice touch.
This will definitely be the first place i will look into staying at when i next need a stop over in Birmingham.
Couldn’t fill kettle from tap in bathroom sink had to use a glass.
Glass shelf above sink meant you couldn’t wash your face as it was in the way.
Could do with double glazing as we were above front door so people chatting till 2am even though i was told it was a quiet room 105.lift was out of order.
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and love it.
Amazing bar downstairs with good food and drink.
Rooms are decorated well and spacious.
We decided to leave this review in hope the hotel read it as after our recent stay our first and only complaint ever was the housekeeping staff in the morning.
We were woken before 8am with conversations being literally shouted between staff as they clean different rooms. We know pretty much what both were doing the day before and what they were doing after work.
Everything is great about this hotel and we will return for sure but someone needs to explain to the housekeeping staff that it should be quiet for people to be able to sleep until the check out time, Not before 8am!!
Hopefully this will be a one off as we will be back!
Great at first sight. But no one told us, even after checking us into the top floor, that the lifts were out of service and looking at reviews, have been for months. No one also told us - until the following morning - that there are no quiet rooms. Despite being promised one by email from the hotel. And the person on reception made sure I knew that in a really entitled way and without an ounce of customer service or charm. Also felt a bit sorry for the sweet breakfast waiter obviously being given a hard time by the chef. Think a little bit of staff training would go a long way.
Good vibe. Nice staff. Great location. Basic room. No coffee machine as shown on website. No hairdryer. Lift out of order...as it was 12 months ago when we stayed.
Mini prosecco and juice was a nice touch.
