In a word....awful. The Hollingdales was really dated, smelled musty, and was in a very poor state of repair. Owner tried to get us to pay twice as he had no record of my booking, and only relented when I showed him email confirmation. The room had stained carpets and duvet cover. Bunk bed had top safety bar missing and long screws sticking out. I asked for these to be removed, but they were not. The toilet was not fixed to the floor, bathroom sliding door did not close fully, and there was a massive crack in the ceiling and it was sagging. Overall, not the best room I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was adequate, but the breakfast room again could do with a lock of paint and dead flies removed from the windowsills. Back of the building was a mess of rubbish bags, and I heard what I take to be a mouse in our room. Our shower leaked through to downstairs and the poor kitchen worker tried to come in with a towel to stop the leak!I would not return to, or recommend this hotel.
