The property was quirky, and the bathroom was lovely.
The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful, we complained about the stifling heat in the stuffy room, and were told only heating is available in the winter, we had to end up opening and closing the window throughout the night as it was like a sauna. The room itself did not feel deluxe, the view was of some rusty aircon units, pigeon spikes on the Juliet balcony outside, and the smell of smoke from the guests below who were outside on their terraces didn't help with the ventilation problems mentioned above.
Housekeeping didn't make up our room, they only refilled the coffee pods, and after leaving and checking the bill, we realised we'd been charged for 2 breakfasts that we didn't have. We have since requested a refund.
This was a disappointing stay, and below standards we've received at other Hotel du Vin properties.
