This is a beautiful, old property, a stately old lady, on a tree-lined street across from the River Cam and a beautiful green park called Jesus Green. Entering the park across a small footbridge, you can easily walk to the Venetian-style boats pushed by punters with long poles, and in the other direction, beyond the small waterfall, a rowing club boathouse. You can also easily walk into downtown Cambridge for restaurants and sightseeing. There are several narrow houseboats on the Cam. The sidewalks and park are lovely if you have small or older children with energy and interest. What makes the property especially charming is the welcome from the receptionist (an elegant Persian lady) which raises this property from “nice” to “a pleasure.” There is parking behind the property at $18 a day, and a walkable co-op grocery. In many ways, this property is ideal for nearly any visitor because of the location, the warm welcome, the cleanliness, the tradition. There is even a restaurant downstairs. There is television in each room, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. The windows open (as there is no AC).
