Very good

The hotel was beautiful, the staff very friendly. My room was immaculate and nicely decorated
The food was not great as mass produced this including a function evening meal and breakfast
There is no lighting from the car park to the hotel and I found it difficult to see the path in the dark
The drinks are very expensive at the bar … almost £10 for a glass of wine
There was a charge for parking but it wasn't made clear on the hotels web site. No food was available in the evening the day we stood but we hadn't been given prior notification of this. The bed moved away from the head board when lying in bed propped up against the headboard.
A lovely traditional hotel around a 10 minute walk from the centre. Plenty of variety for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was good. I thought the bar area was outdated and needed some new furniture and tlc. Found myself being woken up at 2am with banging water pipes. Also if you intend to have a bath make sure to take your own body wash because the one provided is fixed halfway up the wall . Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay
I had a single room and, as usual, for most single travellers, it was tucked away as an afterthought. I understand that the integrity of the building needs to be maintained but there was a massive crack in the upper pane of the window in the bedroom and a gap between the sashes that let in blasts of cold air. The window in the bedroom also had a gap between sashes that I could put my hand through and it didn't seem possible to close the windows. There was also a very large crack in the bathroom sink. I know everyone is economising but one sachet of caffeinated coffee in the room - seriously. I loved the hotel and the position but wouldn't want to stay again if being a solo traveller felt like being a second. Lass citizen. The reception staff were very friendly & helpful. Thank you
Love the Swan. Great breakfast. Cosy bar. Staff are helpful and it has a nice atmosphere.
The rooms are a bit old now though. The single room in particular was pretty tiny and dark, as the windows were small.
The other issue is they turn the heating off fairly often. My room was really cold after midnight and during the day. Apparently you can request a heater but no one told me this. A friend told me after. Would be good to know as it's an old building so it gets chilly.
It seems to be cutting corners elsewhere. The the bathroom shampoo, soap etc is all from refillable dispensers (no conditioner, and shampoo and shower gel are one thing). Bit disappointing.
It's in a perfect location to explore Harrogate. Definitely a nice place to stay.
Great area for shopping in Harrogate yet very quiet. We stayed in a suite and it was marvellous. Breakfast could have been better, a couple of us felt the need of an extra toasting machine.
Beautiful stay and in a great location to the centre. Hotel was spotless and the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Definitely will stay there again.
