Can’t beat the central location. Main reception and bar areas are very grand. The rest of the areas up to the rooms are definitely showing their age. Rooms quite dark and walls are very thin for noise from other rooms

One night stay not to be repeated
Check in took a while. No car parking. Only two staff at breakfast resuling tables not bein cleared, no cultery and pots, limited food available. Staff trying their best but nosign of management
Will not be staying again
Parking first come first served however parking spaces had been reserved? Suggested carpark full due to Conference on in town we had to park near railway station £15.60 overnight. Room very spacious and clean and had a good nights sleep. Plug sockets an issue only one that we could use double socket to close to skirting board so could get plugs in the socket.

Property very dated could do with a good spruce...floors very creaky in rooms carpets very dated in room and passageways, need to change shower curtain in bathroom to screens. Breakfast average, tables were been cleared but not reset for next person, lots of people wandering around looking for cutlery. Food areas need attention regularly as there was alot of crumbs around. Also parking of £12, if your staying in hotel you should be given a discounted rate.

Location & parking good. Warm welcome from reception but breakfast was very poor. Only eggs were scrambled. Furnishings & decor very tired. Is in desperate need of a refit but to be fair, you get what you pay for & it wasn't expensive.
So the ceiling was extremely squeaky and the person staying in the room above sounded like Nelly the elephant up there having trampoline lessons. It did disturb my sleep and I’m a heavy sleeper.
Only stayed a night but everything was fantastic. Phoebe on Front Desk was really warm and welcoming (helped us check in late after a theatre visit, no problem); the room was beautifully clean, beds comfy, really quiet. The location of the Crown is perfect; lovely interesting shops and coffee shops in abundance, a leafy area, Harrogate at its finest. We look forward very much to our next stay!

Check in ws very quick.
Cosy double room. Carpet very dusty. Room smelt so had to open the door and use the fsn to get some air into the room. Window will mot open do the room was hot and stuffy, even in October. I wouldnt like to stay in summet.
Previous reviews mentooned the rooms being hot.
Really nice stay nice staff, loved & clean.
& they gave us some chocolates as it was our anniversary. We also had complimentary upgrade & complimentary drinks, as we have visited quite a few times.
The location is perfect.
Stayed before 1 year ago and was very satisfied. This year the room smelled musty and a bit like B.O. and everything in general is looking tired and in need of refreshing. Dylan in reception was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. He went up to the room and did his best to get rid of the musty smell. Thank you, Dylan. He offered to change rooms but there was no other twin room free. We were provided with a very welcome upgrade to an executive room for the 2nd night but again the room looked a bit tired but lovely and spacious and smelled ok. Breakfast was very good although whether the person taking our order was trying to be friendly/funny it didn’t come across well because she sounded as if she thought I was asking too much of the kitchen when I ordered both porridge and poached eggs (both of which have to be ordered separately from the buffet). But for the price I think smell aside this is a good hotel.
Our stay here was generally excellent. We managed to get a car parking space although it should be noted that there aren’t many space. The members of staff at reception were all very pleasant. Our room was excellent! I think we got an upgrade because we received a large corner suite with 4 rooms even though we’d only paid for a family room. The room was well appointed although the decor was dated, but in keeping with the hotel. The rooms were very spacious - we even had a four poster bed! The location of the hotel was also very convenient for Harrogate with the centre only a couple of minutes walk away.
The only negatives were that the bed was a little too firm and noise from outside the hotel could be heard due to the old windows. But otherwise we had a good stay.
Very bad, booked in for evening meal. People who did get served in dining room sent meals back as they were inedible. Walked out after waiting over 1/30 for meal ended up in wetherspoons. Breakfast in the morning was cold and undercooked. Hotel is very tired and needs a complete refurbishment .
