Check in was mostly self service, but as I was staying for 2 nights and wanted to add breakfast for only 1 so I spoke to a member of staff who was really friendly and helpful. Large, spacious and modern room. The bed was very comfy despite being two single bed frames pushed together for a kingsize bed. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The hotel breakfast had vegan and gluten free options which is appreciated. However the risk of cross contamination for vegans and those with allergies is not worth it. Things such as cereals, spreads etc were all in big refillable jars or pots which meant guests mix things up. Having dairy free margarine right next to butter is not helpful. If the hotel wants to reduce waste and be sustainable it’s good but not at the detriment of those with dietary requirements. The area was being refurbished so not the most pleasant or accessible during this time and for some reason where I was sat had the air con on full blast, in December that’s not needed! The staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful at least. Would maybe stay again but I doubt I’d get breakfast again.

I booked a cosy room which was perfect for me. As a solo traveller. It had everything I needed for a short stay and the bed was super comfy with a lovely thick duvet. The room got quite cold though but after speaking to reception, the maintenance team were very helpful and brought me a stand alone radiator which made my stay extra cosy. The only thing that could have made my stay even better would be extra hot chocolate in the room and biscuits to be provided to snack on.
