Used the Pilot as an O2 Arena overnight “bolt hole” to avoid a late night commute home. For which it is more than ideal. Some maybe put off by the price, but it is good value and convenient for the North Greenwich peninsula. The deluxe double rooms are a fair size with interestingly themed rooms (ours had framed ‘Eagle’ comic covers and Anthony Buckeridge ‘Jennings’ paperbacks). All the rooms have clocks on their doors, set to the hour of their room-number. All are fairly well appointed with USB-2 and C sockets. We had an Iron, a hairdryer, artisan (Nespresso) coffee capsules and bags. But only one tea bag to share.
The bathroom and toilet are very snug (tight) but fully functional which was ok.
The rooms are split across the first and second floor, above the Pilot public house. There is both an internal (from the pub) and private (opens out to the street) staircase, so entry after closing time is possible with a swipe card key at the end of the evening.
Although I did not use it, there was ample car parking (included in my rate) which was great. But I did not see any EV charging facilities (as of April 2024).
We did not try the pub bar food (had a concert to attend), but it looked popular and of a good standard. But breakfast (included in my rate) was great. They just kept running out of tea bags, tea bags, toast and pastries.
If you are going to the O2 Arena, consider this for your accommodation, but book ahead and early if possible.
