We chose this hotel for its proximity to Terminal 5. If we had been informed about transport links we would have taken their monorail and saved ourselves a wait of an hour for the hotels shuttle.

It was a nice place to stay near airport if you have to take another flight, the only negative was that there is no lift and you have to carry your luggage up to the stairs to go to your room.

Dated scruffy furniture. Net curtain at window would only pull halfway closed No info from trainee at check in. Had to ask about bar and wrong opening hours given. No info about pod back to terminal. Bar staff very friendly. Would not choose to stay again unless no other choice

One night stay before early flight, everything good except one thing, the POD to and from airport pricing is a complete con. At the airport it says free POD but to get into Thistle Hotel you have to pay £8 per person to get into the locked gate, however gate wasn't locked!! I refused to pay the £16 and receptionist agreed with me, however I paid for my return journey and was given a key code to get out of the gate (i personally think it should be charged per room not per person) and guess what the gate wasn't locked!!! My husband made sure it was locked behind us. Other guests were also complaining about this system.

Completely fine for an overnight before an early flight, and much cheaper than other options. Worth staying for the novelty of a pod to the terminal....but wouldn't like to linger any longer than necessary in cramped, dated, 70's accommodation.
