accidentally booked two rooms for the same date. One booking was made two days before my trip, and the other booking was made earlier. No one told me that I had booked duplicate rooms when I checked in. I only realized it the next morning. I spoke to the receptionist, and she told me that if I requested a refund, the hotel would process it. However, in the end, I did not receive any refund. Because of this experience, I will not stay at your hotel again. And because of this issue, i highly recommend dont book this hotel !!

We travelled all day to get to Manchester. We arrived at the Portland to an underwhelming welcome by Irina. It was not immediately obvious we had arrived at reception as a woman was working on a laptop on a simple bench. It appeared we should have known that!!! We actually were at reception but you would never know it! There was not a smile, greeting or acknowledgement from Irina that we were unimpressed. The hotel was quite expensive therefore we would expect a better customer experience. Irina is in need of training or to be replaced by someone who actually likes the role. Unfortunately this soured our stay from the start. We are not in the habit of complaining but we felt so strongly about the poor customer surface we have had to comment.

Good location and the room is clean, but that’s is all the good points I can say. The walls are paper thin and the room next door woke me at 04:30 in the morning. The breakfast was also one.of the worst I’ve ever eaten

Hotel was just the way how it looked on the pictures staff were friendly and very welcoming Rooms are very clean and tidy didn’t hear one sound of noise at night slept brilliant. Definitely will be returning back

The room was very clean, and we were happy with it, till we returned about 11pm after our evening out in Manchester and the people next door (or above, not sure) were very noisy into the early hours. I coukdn't be bothered to get up and go find someone to complain but it was noise loud enough to disturn sleep. We left early the nxt morning. I suggest better sound proofing, or if hens/groups of females book rooms put them well away from everyone else!

Room was lovely and clean. Decor was nice. Walls are thin as you can hear people in the next rooms voices. Also the door to to the room is not as wide as normal making it difficult to get luggage in . I would return as we had a nice stay
