King room pokey but comfy
Initial impression was that the lobby and bar looked really inviting. Our room, on the other hand, looked small and its window just looked out to a space in between two buildings, so very little light and a view of grey concrete... It was a bit depressing as it was gorgeous outside! That said, when we did actually go to bed the room was so dark and comfy... Nice firm mattress and two plump pillows each, all with crisp bed linen. Breakfast had a good selection, including shakshuka and a cauliflower, spinach and tofu hash, but there was a massive piece of egg shell in my poached egg, which really put me off. Just bad luck i guess. Would stay again but definitely not for a romantic break. It was functional but the (king) room was just too pokey for us.

The air conditioning unit in my room was so loud, it sounded like wind howling and I couldn't sleep, ear plugs did nothing, the irony is that the room was also very hot. I sent a WhatsApp to the hotel and they asked for my email address but I haven't heard anything from them.

I had never heard of the Yotel brand before making this booking. I was pleasantly surprised when staying there. The hotel was like no other that I have stayed at. Walking into the reception, I found an eclectic mix of weird and wonderful things, put together to make a great welcoming space, not the clinical feel you often get in hotel receptions. There is a bar / cafe / restaurant next to reception which has several people using, giving a vibrant atmosphere to the reception area. The guy manning reception was friendly, welcoming, efficient and helpful, whilst appearing quite eccentric. It was a great start to our stay. Going to my room, the hotel appeared very well kept, clean and the corridors appeared very wide, good decor and carpets. Our room was clean and I loved the style, quite modern but equally warm and welcoming. The bed / pillows were all comfortable. I needed extra pillows, these were ordered using the WhatsApp number on the wall in the room, rather than the traditional “calling reception”. This worked well and the pillows were delivered in a few by minutes. There were plenty of plug sockets / USB sockets available. One small gripe was that the sliding bathroom door squeaked when moved, being irritating in the middle of the night. This was reported to reception at checkout and will therefore hopefully be fixed for the next guest. All I all, an excellent stay, with a great nights sleep. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

great Quirky city centre hotel
Quirky decent hotel with rooms that look some where near a San Francisco loft type look ( raw concrete ceilings) The hotel bar area is great and worth staying there just for this. Food was Ok, a bit different in terms of choice - but overall quality was sadly just hotel fodder Very well situated but NOT if you are looking to go to the NEW ( Co-Op) arena, unless you want to get on the tram there and back

It’s aways an amazing stay at YOTEL since I decided to stay there the first time. I’ve now stayed there twice (1st time for 1 night and 2nd time for 3 nights) it’s a great location wise - quick and cheap bus to centre or 10-15 min walk. I booked the Windowless King Room and it’s quiet, clean, comfy and has all the facilities you need. If you do need anything else they have a whatsapp messaging service which you can text for any queries. If not, you can just go downstairs as there’s friendly staff available at all times. Bar downstairs if you want to be sociable. Seamless self check-in and out. Really and truly gonna be staying there as often as I am in Manchester.
