Liked: Staff & service
Had to move from first room offered as hair on bed and marks all over lampshade and walls. Second room was better but I was aware of the noise of toilet either filling from other room or something loud. Not slept since 3.30 due to very noisy people coming back then banging doors and shouting. Not happy as have 10 hour shift to work. Chewing gum on floor next to lift. Won’t be staying again

Poor
I really do not like it when one sheet straight on mattress and that's what you sleep on. In the morning I also notice marks where a mug has been.. the cleaning seems to be basic. Bathroom sparce.. conditioner bottle completely missing from the holder.
My husband had cancer operation in the RVI hospital and was supposed to go home yesterday but wasn’t well enough. So I needed an hotel room so looked on hotel .com I booked a room and arrived within an hour the room was expensive for a stander room I thought but it was Saturday anyway I had a late meal of pasta and salmon it was lovely the staff were lovely on the bar and off to bed I actually slept like a baby until 5am I missed the little biscuits with a cup of tea but later went for a lovely breakfast I will go back to the hotel next visit thank you..
Whilst the hotel was located well for what we needed and the lobby looks great and the staff were lovely, this is not a 4* hotel. The sink was cracked in multiple places, the tiles were falling off in the bathroom, toilet also had cracks and holes in the carpet throughout the room. It generally was just very grim and there was no chance of using the bath for the children or letting them walk barefoot!
Friendly hotel with some great staff who try to help no matter what you need. I stay there about twice a month and I'm slowly seeing how many rooms I've stayed in
Nice city centre venue. Good sized room. Near all venues and amenities. Staff were efficient and friendly. Bathroom needed a little TLC but clean and good facilities.
Bed was very hard this was my 1 real negative hence 4 stars.
Checked in and found window was locked and room was extremely hot and humid. Had no Aur conditioning in the room either. Spoke to staff (Scott) at reception that it is unbearable to live in it. Was faced with some passive aggressive racism and untimely ended with cancellation of room and moving hotel. There were several room showing available on hotel.com and other websites for the same hotel but the staff refused to move us to a different room. Very rude and disrespectful staff. Went through the refund process and he was being very suspicious by not allowing me to get the refund receipt or even taking a photo of the receipt for my evidence for future.
Really friendly staff, well equipped room and within easy reach of Newcastle city centre. Bed was so comfy I had the best night's sleep I've had for a while. Bar and restaurant excellent. Breakfast restaurant well laid out and excellent food and coffee. If I return to Newcastle I would definitely stay at the Leonardo again.
