Really comfortable, clean and quiet room within a short walk of everything you’d want to see in Oxford.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
It was ok
Overnight stay for works Christmas do. The room was ok. Tired and in need of decorating. Noisy because of the road outside. Disappointing lack of parking although we knew that before we came. Made life difficult!
My friend and I requested a twin room for one night. We were offered one on the top floor which had no lift. My friend has COPD so couldn’t manage the stairs. We were offered an upgrade on the ground floor. The room was nice and we had no issues with it until we went to bed. There was a small radiator on the wall near the window which was on and too hot to touch and making a noise with the water going through it. We assumed it would go off through the night. After 2.5 hours of listening to the noise and becoming overheated, I got up to turn the radiator off and open the window to let some cool air in. There was no thermostat on the radiator and only one window would open slightly, the other had a lock on. Frustrated, my friend went to reception to ask iif someone could help. A man came to have a look and went off to get some pliers. 20 minutes later (2.50am) we were still waiting. My friend went back to reception and they gave her a key for another room on the top floor and showed her to a lift (which previously they had said they didn’t have). They then took us to another room on the top floor with a double bed. I said the room wasn’t suitable (I had booked a twin room). My friend just needed to sleep and opted to stay in the room. I went back downstairs and asked them to open the other window as I had earplugs I just needed it to be cooler. This was 3.10am. They couldn’t find a key! The next morning my friend had to walk through reception in her nightwear back to the room
Absolute perfection! Excellent stay for those with business at Oxford. So conveniently located, well maintained, and in keeping with the decor of the surroundings. Can't think of anything I would criticize.
Quiet end of the street, walkable from train station and tourist spots. We stayed in room 311, which was very roomy, but required a small chest of drawers, as not enough space for clothes. Otherwise a good and reasonable priced hotel
Comfortable accommodation in historic Oxford but….
Well situated in City Centre for walking and exploring. However, neither hotel or city is car friendly with it being virtually impossible to take car from recommended car park to hotel, due to one way system which even TomTom could not master! Hotel parking very small area, expensive, and non condusive to access and return ( car keys had to be left with reception in case they needed to move cars to let other users out). Bathroom superb, room well appointed if a little old fashioned ( but in line with City character). 2 attempts to get hotel staff to replace bedroom light bulbs went unheeded. Unreliable bar with only 1 gin on offer at times, and restriction to serving just beer and wine in evening seemingly at the whim of staff/management. Hotel not particularly easy for disabled access and manoeuvre.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I was very comfortable, there was access to everything I needed, and the staff was very warm and welcoming. I'm already looking forward to staying here again!

Liked: Cleanliness
Very disappointed with the hotel chose to go away to celebrate being cancer free for 2 years looked online and liked the pictures so booked it on the strength of those only to find when there that the pictures were 5 years old and lots of things have changed. Came back to have a drink in the bar at 10 pm and was told the bar was closed and it was nothing like in the pictures when mentioned to the receptionists I was told they would inform management. Had I known it was nothing like the pictures on line I would not have booked that hotel. Spoiled what should have been a special weekend away with my partner.
It was really conveniently located, yet still quiet so that we weren't disturbed at night. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast was great. The only minor thing that could have been improved on is that our hallway was a little tired looking (marks on walls, paint chipping in places) and could have used a little sprucing up. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the centre of Oxford.
Some good and some bad elements to to this slightly faded hotel in city centre location. Some rooms are good, others are in poor condition. Smallish rooms but with decent sized well decorated bathrooms.
