Coming from Toronto, I forgot the 5 hour time difference, I had book at the Ibis South Central Hotel in Southampton for $87 CDN for the day before we arrived at Southampton. We wanted to be close to the cruise terminal, so the Ibis hotel let us use their Wi-Fi to find the closest available Hotel. The Hotel Leonardo was the closest. We booked the hotel at the cost of $325 Canadian. At that price, we expected an excellent room. We were so wrong. Our room was very small and part of it was made smaller by a larger square wall marked off as a fire wall. There was basically very little space for unpacking close. There was a dirty washrag in the bathroom sink and the toilet was clogged. The room was freezing. The outside temperature was 10 C (50 F) and dropping. We tried to increase the temperature in the room, but the thermostat did not respond. A technician came to unclog the toilet. We asked her about the room temperature and she said the hotel wanted to save money on energy, so clients had no control. She got us an electric space heater very quickly, so I assume many guests requested heat in the fall and winter. The bathroom and shower were small. I am glad that my roommate and I were not in any way obese. Otherwise, we would have had to take our shower with one foot out the door. Breakfast was not included and cost $20 Canadian. The breakfast was overpriced, not much better than a continental breakfast. I recommend that you stay at another hotel.
