The Hyatt-Regency was a far better stay ten years ago and prior. They used to run a 5-star operation, but it is clear that the infrastructure and building are aging and they are not investing the money into fixing it up. It was fine, and there were no real problems. Staff was great, but the hotel overall was unprepared for the influx of people coming in for American Thanksgiving and the Buffalo Bills game and our group of five wanted to simply check in by 2:00 P.M. so we could make our way to the Buffalo Bills game while unloading a portion of our gear. The hotel was not ready to have the rooms ready to go until 4:30 P.M. and that part is really unacceptable. They should have offered a small compensation, whether that be a financial one, or a future credit, or just something, to show that they were unhappy with being unprepared, but nothing of the sort was offered. Again, the staff was great to work with, but the hotel overall was definitely not the old Hyatt, and the hotel should be ready and have extra staff ready to accommodate large holiday influx periods. On one more positive, they did provide us a 2-hour late check-out enabling us to take our time to check-out to 1:00 P.M. from 11:00 A.M. That was a nice gesture but we still left by 11:30 A.M.

First off parking is an additional fee. Parking is across the street. And beware of valet here. When I was in the parking lot we watched a valet almost hit the pole on the way out, I mean centimeters from the pole. Couldn’t believe he missed it. Our room had a couple nasty mysterious stains on the carpet. One big one that looked like blood. Room 1405. It was very gross looking. For being a suite it felt like a regular nasty room. I regretted my choice for hotel. I should have stayed somewhere else

Our room wasnt ready on check in, and they put us in a room that smelt like smoke, before putting us in the original room. We were about to checkout and asked for a few hrs late checkout, and the employee made a passive aggressive comment, before agreeing to give us more time. The staff were very nice and helpful when things didnt go right, but it was one small inconvenience after another, which added up and was frustrating. For $250 for one night it was not worth it.

Weird incident with wet floor
I was happy overall. There was just one weird thing. I arrived late at night and noticed there were a bunch of towels on the floor outside the door in the hall. When I came into the room, I noticed the floor was wet near the bed. I was too tired to ask to change rooms but it was weird. The rest of the room was made up but they must have forgotten to come back and deal with that.
