Nice hotel, but “Resort” is only in the name.
I’m from the area so knew what to expect from a casino hotel. Just getting away for a night, and this was cheaper with nicer rooms than the competition on The ROW due to the remodel. Check-in is a little awkward, as the front desk is in the middle of the casino floor, so if you’re traveling heavy, maybe leave the bags in the car until after check-in. Their self service check-in was out of service but that might make things easier in the future. Parking was also a bit of a pain, only 3 levels of the garage were open due to construction, but there is additional outside parking. I got an Aspen Tower King Bed - City View. Room was spacious, and I got a corner room over looking the west side of the city which was nice. Bed wasn’t the best, felt like an old spring bed; not that firm. Sofa chair was a little stained from dirt. Bathroom was nice and big, with a big stand up shower, toiletries included. Tall mini fridge with a freezer and a kitchenette if you’re interested in utilizing that. Did not use the pool but I think it’s worth mentioning you’ll need to walk through a parking lot to get to it.
Overall no problems and the room was nice, but I fail to see how they call themselves a “resort” while being so similar to the casinos a couple blocks down. Again, I knew what I was getting, but can see how a non-local could expect more out of the name. There also is a $35 resort fee that’s paid on site, so if booking through a third party make sure that’s included in your total price.
